Destiny 2 roadmap for 2025 unveils two new expansions and new annual model

Destiny 2's new roadmap for 2025 is finally out. One of the most anticipated updates from Bungie was announced with a blog post, where the developers laid out details on the game's future, including expansions, seasons, and more scheduled activities. A huge chunk of a player's game time goes into building for the future, and having a roadmap helps everyone invest.

Destiny 2 roadmap revealed for 2025

Starting with the 2025 loop, Destiny 2 will have its annual model changed yet again. It seems that players will be getting two paid expansions every year, alongside four free seasonal updates. The former have been revealed to be codenamed Apollo, scheduled for Summer 2025 until Fall 2025, alongside Behemoth, scheduled for Winter 2025 until Spring 2026.

New Raids and Dungeons

Regarding seasonal updates, there are new and reprised activities scheduled throughout the year, alongside new gear pieces, Artifact mods, new modifiers, new challenges, new events, and sandbox changes.

Lastly, it seems that there will also be a reward pass with Exotic weapons, ornaments, and upgrade materials. Bungie stated the following regarding the upcoming model:

"Starting next year, instead of one big Expansion, we are going to deliver two medium-sized Expansions, one every six months. Each of these will depart from the one-shot campaign structure we’ve been using essentially unchanged since Shadowkeep, and each will be an opportunity to explore exciting new formats instead."

Players can expect more blog posts regarding the next expansion, codenamed Apollo.
