Fallout 76 Signal Strength quest guide and rewards

Fallout 76 Signal Strength is one of the main quests in the game. To initiate the quest, either listen to the Top of the World radio or go to the Top of the World location. Completing this quest is necessary for completing The Missing Link questline. Once you wrap the quest, you will be rewarded with various supplies and exp.

The Fallout 76 main campaign is quite long; the game is filled with various main and side quests, points of interest, events, and many more. It may initially feel overwhelming, but you will soon get a hang of it.

This article goes through the steep form of completing Signal Strength and the rewards you will get for completing it.

How to complete the Fallout 76 Signal strength quest?

The main motive of this quest is to gain the trust of a character named Rose, for which you need to help her amplify her radio broadcast's reach. To do that, you craft a Signal Repeater and install it in the radio array.

Here are the steps to completing the Fallout 76 Signal strength quest:

1) Secure the Signal Repeater Schematic

Head to the Seneca Rocks Visitor Center, northeast of Top of the World. Defeat the Scorched enemies there at the back. Go to the second floor and loot Major Darion Jones' body to obtain the Signal Repeater Schematic. Be prepared for a potential Diseased Honey Beast spawn near the Red Rocket next to the visitor center.

2) Gather the Signal Repeater Materials

To craft the Signal Repeater, you need an RCX01-A39 Duplexer and an SMU-97 Transponder per the schematic.

For the Transponder, go southeast of Greg's Mine Supply towards Horizon's Rest, the airplane wreckage on the map. Fight through the Super Mutant guards, climb up to the plane's nose wreckage, and enter to find the Transponder in the cockpit panel. For the Duplexer, follow the train tracks south of Top of the World to 98 NAR Regional, a train crash site in Fallout 76 Signal Strength

Deal with any miner or bandit camps along the way as needed. At the crash site, locate the overturned red train car and defeat Mr. Gutsys; then, find the quest-marked circuitry panel to get the Duplexer. With both parts, craft the Signal Repeater at a WorkBench.

3) Installing the Signal Repeater

From Top of the World, go southeast to the National Isolated Radio Array in Fallout for installation. Be prepared for a swarm of Super Mutants roaming in the area. Find the small radio tower and use its panel to install the Signal Repeater. As soon as you place the Repeater, a few Protectrons will spawn. Dispatch them and move on.

Enter the nearby maintenance building and interact with the Array Control Terminal. Select options to divert power to the auxiliary component, activating the Signal Repeater to boost Rose's range. She'll contact you to visit Top of the World.

Reunite with Rose Return to Top of the World, take the elevator up, and enter Rose's office on the third floor to learn about her identity and Madigan's fate related to The Missing Link quest.
