The developers of Last Epoch have decided to push the highly anticipated 1.2 patch to the first quarter of the next year (2025). The title has already built a favorable reputation in the rapidly growing market of top-down dungeon crawlers despite being relatively new compared to top contenders like Diablo and Path of Exile.
With the upcoming Diablo 4 DLC set to drop in the next few months and Path of Exile 2 entering beta shortly after, fans of the genre already have a lot on their plate. Hence, many believe that this decision was wise because the update could have lost the spotlight between the two heavyweights.
However, there's still new content coming to Last Epoch, and in this article, we have detailed everything players can expect in the coming days.
What's coming next in Last Epoch after the recent update delay?
The developers recently took to the game's official forum to explain why they had decided to delay the highly anticipated update. This delay will give the team enough time to work on additional significant upgrades that will debut with the 1.2 patch, now scheduled for early 2025.

The team noted that they have been actively reading and discussing feedback from the community and have decided that it is best for them to take time to polish the update as much as possible. Nevertheless, the Imperial Uprising "cycle refresh" event will still be released on September 19 and will introduce a fresh new gameplay cycle.
Alongside this refresh, players will see new content, including:
- 20 additional shrine types
- Loot lizards
- A stash tab priority system
- Search improvements
- Various quality-of-life updates for dungeons
This new Cycle will also launch some fixes that will permanently disable some exploits that used to give players an unfair edge,

Lastly, this new cycle will bring previous Harbingers of Ruin characters to the legacy mode and pave the way for a fresh new start. Each game cycle lasts around three months and players need to fully respec their Mastery and Skill Points within that period.
