The loadout system has made life significantly easier for the Destiny 2 community since the launch of Lightfall. With so many mods, subclass Fragments, and Exotic items to choose from, it is important to have multiple slots for a one-click changing option from one subclass to another. With the current setups, most players have already used up all 10 slots in the current sandbox.
Hence, with the addition of Prismatic, Bungie announced that players will get more loadout slots for their additional builds. The exact number of slots, however, sadly remains unknown for now.
Destiny 2 The Final Shape to add more loadout slots for players
The confirmation of the additional loadout slots came from a preview event for The Final Shape, where Game Director Tyson Green went into detail regarding the feature. According to DotEsports and Gamepost, Tyson stated the following:
"There will be additional loadout slots, and they will not be difficult to obtain either. I believe that we’re putting them on Guardian Ranks."
The existing slots also require Guardian ranks to unlock, so it is recommended for any new player to push through the ranks to be in a comfortable position. Having five subclasses with countless Fragments and Exotic items, adding more slots with time was always a wise choice.
Bungie is also adding 100 more slots to the Vault, which was announced back in one of "Into the Light" Vidoc. With the removal of sunsetting, major weapons from Y1 to Y4 will become viable in the sandbox, forcing players to hoard even more than their usual stock.
Aside from in-game loadouts, players still have the option to use the renowned third-party website "DIM" or Destiny Item Manager.
