A new expedition titled The Cursed is due to begin later today (October 23) and will continue for around two weeks. Players will experience haunting voices, spectral anomalies, a twilight realm, and ancient portals as they tackle "the weakening of the boundaries of reality."

No Man's Sky Expedition 16 The Cursed announced

The Cursed expedition is situated in a twilight realm. Hello Games describes it as a space "straddling the boundary between one reality and the next." Players won't be able to use any hyperdrive technology there, with interstellar traveling possible only through the ancient portal network.

Players will be guided during their playthrough by haunting voices, which will provide "information, strange blueprints, and mystery." The developers mentioned that players must decide whether these voices can be trusted.

To deal with The Cursed's threat to reality, an Anomaly Suppressor is attached to the exosuit. If this new mechanic is not properly maintained, spectral anomalies may attack the player.

"Travellers will need to prepare a number of otherworldly concoctions to navigate through The Cursed. Sustain boundary strength with the Elixir of Glass, reveal the location of portals with the Elixir of Quicksilver, and prise open the gateways with the Elixir of Blood. For those that reach the end of the journey, its final trial will require a drink from the Elixir of Water – and the consequences thereafter."
