Old School RuneScape’s regularly scheduled server downtime has already begun. While this downtime doesn’t come with any patch notes attached or major updates, fans can expect a much longer downtime wait than normal.
The developers have shared what this downtime is going to focus on, in a vague post on their Game Status Information Centre portion of the website. The update is scheduled to last for four hours, though that could change, depending on what takes place on the developer's side of things.
Old School RuneScape’s regularly scheduled maintenance is longer than normal
Unfortunately, Old School RuneScape’s scheduled downtime has nothing to do with any of the game’s many powerful skills being adjusted. The extended maintenance was announced on April 22 on X.com, to take place on April 23, 2024, from 9 AM BST until 1 pm BST. This translates to the server downtime beginning at 1 am PDT and 4 am EDT.
According to the Game Status Information Centre on the RuneScape website, its purpose is to “carry out essential maintenance,” but no further details have been given. It is expected to last for four hours, but this could certainly change, depending on what takes place behind the scenes.
Old School RuneScape Server Downtime end countdown
The above countdown timer reflects how long it will take for the OSRS servers to come back online. It’s worth mentioning that this could take place before the timer goes off, or even last longer. All MMO downtime has a chance to take longer, and this game is no exception.
RuneScape’s latest server maintenance is unfortunately longer than normal, without offering fans any reasons, or particular updates to go along with it. It recently added a major area expansion in March 2024, with Varlamore Part One.
