The Striker armor set and St. Elmo's Engine seem to be getting a nerf in The Division 2 Y6S2. This has been confirmed with the recent PTS Phase 1 (Public Test Server) that went live on September 20, shedding light on several new changes to the sandbox. Both the Striker armor pieces and the St. Elmo's Engine Auto Rifle were the driving force of weapon damage build in the game.

However, starting next season, players will see a slight reduction in the damage output while these gears are equipped. With the launch of a new season, Ubisoft adds new Exotic and named items in the game, wanting everyone to base their characters around them instead of sticking to old builds.

The Division 2 Y6S2 nerfs the fan-favorite Strike armor set and St. Elmo's Engine Exotic

Here are all the changes coming to both the Striker armor set and St. Elmo's Engine Auto Rifle:

  • Striker's Battlegear Backpack will now increase weapon damage per strike of Striker's Gambit from 0.65% to 0.85%. Previously, it was 1% from 0.65%.

After the nerf, instead of granting 200% more weapon damage, Striker's Battlegear will deal 170% more damage at 200 stacks. The 1% increased weapon damage is granted by the Striker's backpack, via the Risk Management Talent. This talent will be nerfed to 0.85%.

The 200 stacks can be gained from equipping the Striker's chest piece that has the 'Press the Advantage' Talent.

In terms of St. Elmo's Engine, here are the nerfs scheduled for next season:

  • Mods will see a nerf with 15% in Optics from 20%, 15% in Muzzle from 20%, and 10% in Underbarrel from 20%.
  • Regarding the weapon's magazine rounds, it seems that St. Elmo's Engine will pack 60 rounds per magazine, instead of 70.

Both the armor pieces and the weapon have been the two main ingredients in the weapon damage build, which also had Coyote's Mask paired. While the damage numbers are still to be tested officially with the full release, these changes are meant to drive players to new builds with the new items getting released.
