No Man's Sky guide: How to begin Expedition 14 Liquidators

Expedition 14 Liquidators has been announced with the arrival of the 5.0 update in No Man's Sky. The expedition itself has not arrived in the game but it won't be long before the folks at Hello Games drop it in the game. The Expedition is described in the patch notes as:

"Engage in a galactic bug hunt in No Man’s Sky’s fourteenth community expedition. A vile brood is spreading corruption across the universe – join the Liquidator Vanguard to do your part and purge the rot from the stars! Report for duty alongside other Travellers to liquidate biological horrors and hosts of giant insects in a high-paced combat expedition full of custom-balanced swarm combat."

If you successfully win the war against the bug faction in No Man's Sky, you will receive many exciting rewards like mounted bug trophies, new posters, and a complete set of organic armor parts forged from the bodies of the brood themselves.

How to initiate the first milestone of Phase 1 of Expedition 14 Liquidators in No Man's Sky

You can follow these steps to begin the first milestone of this new Expedition once it becomes available in the game:

Create a fresh save file in the game
Click on "Community Expedition" and then follow the on-screen steps to initiate the Liquidators Expedition.
Once the initialization completes, you will be dropped on a random planet. You could also begin the expedition in a freighter. However, since the new update leans heavily on new worlds, we can expect the Expedition 14 Liquidators to be the same.
From here, you must follow the game's instructions to complete missions and make your way through the various milestones and phases.

If you are in a pre-existing save file, you must exit to Mode Select, navigate to Community Expedition, and create a new save file to play the expedition.
