While playing Once Human, you'll encounter many unique creatures called Deviants, one of which is the Beaver Deviant. These different companion creatures can help you with gameplay elements like combat, gathering, and crafting. This Deviant will help you gather resources, much like the Once Human Digby Boy Deviant that helps you gather ore.

While playing Once Human, make sure you obtain this companion as soon as possible, as having it active near your base will provide useful materials. Whether you're exploring, engaging in combat, or crafting, this Deviant will always collect for you; the sooner you get it the better.

In this guide, we'll show you how to obtain the Once Human Beaver Deviant as well as how to use and properly maintain it.

How to get the Once Human Beaver Deviant

By heading to a particular pier, obtain the Deviant by simply interacting with it (Image via Starry Studio || Mobile Game)

To get the Beaver Deviant the first thing you'll need to do is head to the Meyer's market zone. This is a decently low-level zone, only requiring you to be Level 15. If you're worried your Once Human character level is too low, spend some time farming experience in earlier zones before attempting this.

Once you've arrived at Meyer's Market, activate the teleporting station found inside, and from there, walk toward the pier South of where you are. When you arrive at the pier, there's a chance you'll see a translucent bubble floating nearby. Inside the bubble, you should see the Beaver Deviant, which you can interact with to obtain by pressing "F" (on PC).

If you get to the pier and find no bubble in sight, hop to a different server instance. Once you've entered a new instance, head to the location again and check the pier. If this companion is still nowhere to be found, continue changing instances until one appears.

Using the Beaver Deviant

Using your logging companion is quite similar to other resource-gathering companions in Once Human, like the Digby Boy. The companion can have its settings altered from the Independent Secure Unit housed in your territory. These settings include changing how long it will scavenge for per session of gathering.

Although you can set the sessions to last longer, it's important to note that the longer your companions are set to gather, the longer they'll need to rest. You'll need to take this into account and determine the best settings for your gathering Deviants based on your playstyle.

Once you've chosen the appropriate settings, set your Beaver Deviant to begin collecting logs for you passively while you're away from your Once Human territory.

Beaver Deviant Maintenance

To properly maintain your Beaver Deviant, craft an Independent Secure Unit to house it. Once you've built this unit and placed it inside your territory, put the companion inside it to begin maintenance. It's important to properly raise the mood of your deviants as they cannot complete their tasks efficiently with a low mood level.

Every Deviant companion has certain things that will raise their mood more than others. The things that boost the mood of the Beaver Deviant the most are crops, high temp, 3W power, and music. Knowing this, you should provide 3W of power and a high temperature to the companion's Independent Secure Unit. Also, give the companion crops and keep music playing nearby.

If you follow all of the above instructions for your Deviant companion, its mood will be restored very quickly while in its unit and it will be able to get back to gathering for you.
