Once Human is a massive MMO survival game that lets you create a base that can serve as both a stronghold and a storage area for all your crafting benches and more. However, choosing a location for establishing your base is crucial, as that determines your access to various resources.

To help you choose, we've shared the five best base locations in Once Human Season 1.

Note: The entries are arranged in no particular order.

5) East of BlackHeart Region

The far northeast corner of the map features a harsh, rocky desert named the BlackHeart Region. Its challenging terrain makes it an unpopular choice for most players to establish a base. However, this is exactly why this spot is ideal if you want an isolated base.

You can build bases atop towering mountain mesas, which is excellent for creating a stronghold, especially on PvP servers. Note that while this location offers excellent security, it's not ideal for vehicle use, as driving off the plateau will likely result in damage.

When establishing a mid-late game base in Once Human, consider your objectives carefully. Most players will need a steady supply of ammunition, which requires a lot of minerals, ores, and various other resources to craft.

Tall Grass Inn and its surroundings boast an abundance of iron deposits. Setting up a base here offers two major advantages: effortless steel ammo production and the ability to craft steel bars for trading at NPC stores, earning valuable Energy Links.

3) Acid Farm Location

In Once Human, acid stands out as a crucial resource for advanced smelting and ammunition crafting. While there are several methods to obtain acid, creating a specialized farm in a polluted zone is highly effective.

By establishing a base in a contaminated area, you can use water pumps to extract polluted water. You can then refine the extracted polluted water to transform it into acid. This direct production method is considered one of the most efficient ways to secure a steady acid supply. That's why we recommend making a base in the Iron River Area.

As you approach the final sections of Once Human's main storyline, you'll find yourself frequently visiting the Blackfell settlement for a series of interconnected quests. That's why having a base in this region becomes advantageous during the late phase of the game.

The Blackfell area also serves as an excellent location for all your scavenging needs. It offers easy access to a wide variety of resources, including rare titanium ore deposits. The surrounding landscape provides ample flat terrain for construction, and nearby points of interest can make your resource grinding runs easier.

Portable Mixed Fuel is one of the most essential resources in the game. At some point, you will need to start crafting this resource in your base to have enough stock to effectively fuel your vehicles.

The Red Sands area is filled with locations that are ideal for extracting oil using water pumps. That's why making a base in this region is a great choice. Additionally, the mineral-rich land is quite handy when it comes to collecting different ores.
