The Once Human Bus Monster, popularly known as The Wanderer, is one of the most iconic monsters among its gallery of macabre enemies. With limbs coming out of a bus, which also has multiple sets of human limbs dangling from its bottom, this is easily one of the most unsettling creatures in the game. Thankfully, though, the encounter itself is much simpler than this surreal design lets on.
Most importantly, defeating the Bus Monster in Once Human grants a lot of rare material and XP for your character. In this article, we have shared where you can find it, how to defeat it, and what rewards you can get from defeating the Once Human Bus Monster.
Once Human Bus Monster: mechanics and defeating strategy explained
To tackle the Bus Monster in Once Human, all you have to do is shoot at its legs and deal a sufficient amount of damage. The bus will kneel down at this point, allowing you to walk into it and grab a Gear Crate lying within. In this manner, it's similar to Hale's moving house: it can't die, but you can get your rewards without killing it.
More Once Human Bus Monster tips:
Weapon choice
- Long-range weapons like sniper rifles are highly recommended. They allow you to maintain a safe distance while targeting weak points with precision.
- If you're more comfortable up close, shotguns can deal devastating damage, particularly in close-quarters combat. However, it’s quite difficult to aim the weak points with a shotgun.
Follow, don’t fight
- If you don’t want to spend your bullets, just simply follow the monster and wait for it to come down on its own.
- Once the Bus Monster comes down, it will spawn some mobs. Simply kill them and go inside the bus from the back.
Stay on your toes
- The Bus Monster is slow but powerful. Keep moving, but never come too close to it. It can perform some devastating melee attacks. So, maintain your distance as much as possible.
