Once Human fans have to be careful when making a character because you cannot delete them once finalized. After you’ve made a character, assembled all the cosmetic choices, and picked a server, ensure that you're 100% certain about those choices. If you should change your mind about your character on the chosen server, you don’t have many options. Needless to say, this is a peculiar decision by Starry Studio and NetEase Games.
Whether Diablo 4, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 14, or Palworld, almost every MMO allows you to delete a character. But not so in this title. While this is a limitation that could change in the future, the following information is what we know when it comes to this free-to-play survival MMO.
Once Human devs gave players a different option instead of character delete
Unfortunately, Once Human players cannot delete a character. Once you’ve made that choice, you’re bound to it. There is always the possibility of Starry Studio developers changing their stance in the future. Until they do, players are out of luck.
Typically, you can select a character and delete it. That’s how it works in most MMOs. But that is not the case with this game. At this point, you do not have any other recourse. If you don't like how your character looks or you want to play with friends on a different server, instead of solo, the title forbids it.
Giving players some respite, Starry Studio, after the game was launched, provided the option of adding new characters, instead of deleting the older ones. That way, you can make another character on a different server, or wherever you want to start over. According to the original plans, the multiple-character setting was supposed to come later. However, player feedback prompted developers to launch it ahead of schedule.
Regardless of the additions post-launch, your inability to delete a character remains. But developers seem fairly open to audience feedback. If enough voices in the community demand change, things might turn around. When that happens, we will update you accordingly.
