Once Human offers a wide range of gear, including various types of headgear, armor, weapons, cosmetics, and more. If you've played RPGs before, you're likely familiar with the unpleasant necessity of wearing unattractive equipment for better stats. However, that is not a concern in Once Human.

One of the first pieces of equipment you collect in the game is a hat, which may not suit your style. You might want to keep it equipped for its stats but prefer not to display it. Fortunately, you can hide hats and other headgear, as well as other pieces of equipment in Once Human.

To hide equipment, simply press K (or the corresponding input) to open the gear menu. Hover over the item you want to hide and click V (or the assigned key for the action), and the gear will vanish. Although the piece will not be visible, you'll still retain its perks and have it equipped.

The first time I encountered a hide equipment mechanic was in Baldur's Gate 3. The game offered an impressive variety of armor choices and casual clothing. However, not all of them suited my taste, especially the helmets or headgear that concealed my character's face, which I had spent hours perfecting during character creation.

To my delight, Baldur's Gate 3 had a convenient setting where I could choose to hide my headgear either outside of combat or permanently. Once Human has a similar feature, but it's not limited to headgear. In the game, you can opt to hide any piece of your equipment while still keeping it equipped.

Keep in mind that toggling the visibility of your gear too frequently in the menu could affect the server. A warning will pop up if the action is deemed "too frequent."
