If you want the best weapons and armor in Once Human, you need more Blueprints. But they can be incredibly tedious to unlock unless you’re exploring a lot. While the Memetic menu will give you some basic blueprints to use, if you want something with real enemy-stopping power, you’ll have to grind and explore the world around you. Unfortunately, the other method of getting blueprints, i.e., fusing blueprint fragments, can be a tedious experience.
While one method will require you to explore and pop open Mythical Crates, you can also use the Wish Machine, which is the only place for finding Gold rarity Blueprints at the time of writing, the highest known rarity.
How to get Blueprints for weapons and armor in Once Human
For the most part, you’ll be hunting down Mystical Crates in each settlement you come to in Once Human for Blueprints. These often contain blueprint fragments, and you’ll need a certain amount of them, depending on the rarity, to complete the blueprint:
Weapon blueprints
- Blue Blueprint: 40 Fragments
- Purple Blueprint: 60 Fragments
- Gold Blueprints: 80 Fragments
Armor blueprints
- Blue Blueprint: 10 Fragments
- Purple Blueprint: 15 Fragments
- Gold Blueprint: 20 Fragments
The primary way to find these Blueprints in Once Human will be these Mystical Crates; look for the red, glowing aura. However, it’s possible to get blueprint fragments in regular weapon/armor crates. Just know that its percentage is incredibly low, so don’t count on it becoming something that happens often in this free-to-play survival MMO.
You can also head to the top of the Greywater Camp and use the Wishing Machine for a shot at useful blueprint fragments in Once Human. This costs Starchom though, so keep that in mind before using the machine. However, it stands a good chance of delivering useful weapon and armor blueprint fragments.

Once you have the proper amount, you can fuse them to create the full blueprint. This is done by clicking "Blueprint Fragments," and seeing which patterns are available for crafting. Fortunately, there will be more blueprint fragments than necessary out in the world for these crafting patterns, so you won’t be punished too badly for not finding them everywhere.
Can you upgrade Blueprints in Once Human?
Although it will take some time, you can certainly upgrade your Blueprints in Once Human. This can be found under the “Enhancement” tab for a blueprint. You need Blueprint Fragments to increase the overall rank of a pattern. Each rarity has a series of ranks you need to upgrade through before you get to the next tier. You can find that information below:
- Green: Three Ranks
- Blue: Four Ranks
- Purple: Five Ranks
- Gold: Six Ranks

You either need one of two Blueprint fragment types, when looking to upgrade a pattern. Either you need the same Blueprint fragment type (matching the weapon or armor), or you need fragments from the same category of pattern: Hunter, Wanderer, Operator, Juggernaut, Beyonder, and Stranger. These will also cost EXP to fuse and improve, alongside the fragments, but you’ll see that in the requirements before you enhance/upgrade the pattern.
