This new feature expands on the initial gender selection offered during character creation, giving players all the freedom they need to express themselves through their Avatars in the game. However, that’s not all there is to expect from the upcoming update.
What is coming with the Lunar Oracle update in Once Human?
The Lunar Oracle event will introduce a new mechanic called Lunacy. You will experience Lunacy when venturing outside your safe territories, causing a loss of Sanity that must be replenished through combat. As Lunacy takes hold, it will enhance resource acquisition during low health and unveil hidden resources like Oracle Crates and deviated plants.

Deviants in the wilderness will become more aggressive and challenging during the event. Additionally, you can obtain Oracle Crates using a new in-game currency called Moon Whispers, earned during the event. These crates contain a variety of powerful rewards, including Lunar-themed mods, exclusive skins, and new formulas.
Visional Wheel System
The Visional Wheel system will also debut during the Lunar Oracle event. This system will warp reality in the game, affecting different scenarios with unique anomalies every 2-3 months. The first cycle will start in January, and players can expect to see these changes impact game modes like Manibus and Prismverse's Clash during the three-month cycle.
The rewards for participating in these Visional Scenarios include exclusive mods and Deviations, with special events like the Crimson Moon Challenge offering Rubies for cosmetic upgrades. However, if you prefer less intense gameplay, you will still have access to standard scenarios without the added anomalies.
