The Scenario system in Once Human has been a double-edged sword ever since the developer, Starry Studio, announced their plans for it. While seasonal resets are common in ARPGs like Path of Exile, in a game like Once Human — which incorporates elements from multiple genres — it can be a significant setback for players who approach it with a completionist mindset.
Although the developer clarified that most of the currencies, blueprints, and Deviants will transfer across seasons, the lack of detail about the overall process left players confused and uncertain about the game's future. That said, a recent Discord post on the official Once Human server has finally provided much-needed clarity, offering a complete timeline and additional details on how the seasons will function.
Once Human 2024 Scenario update timeline
Once Human launched with two distinct Seasonal Scenarios: Manibus and Evolution's Call. While both take place on the same map, Manibus is focused on PvE, whereas Evolution's Call is tailored for PvP. Each server features different objectives and mechanics, offering players a unique experience.
Seasons are divided into multiple phases in Once Human, which unlock progressively, introducing new game modes and activities to keep the gameplay fresh, whether you are starting a new season or wrapping one up.
As the initial scenarios that launched with the game are coming to an end, the developer has announced plans for the upcoming scenarios:
"In September and October, we're bringing in special events featuring new scenarios. The September scenario allows you to face confrontations among factions, and the October one will introduce you to an all-new map and challenge you to survive extreme environments."
This means there will be a new PvP scenario with faction confrontations in September and a PvE scenario in October featuring a brand new map, enemies, and dungeons. Additionally, the developer plans to introduce an all-year-round scenario for players who aren't interested in the seasonal wipe mechanic.
According to the developer, there will be four new scenarios in Once Human every year.

Seasonal Scenario sign-up process in Once Human
With multiple scenarios available in Once Human at the same time, many players have wondered how signing up for new seasons works. The developers addressed this by providing insight into the sign-up process:
"In the final phase of the current scenario, you can sign up for a new scenario and start a new journey right away."
You can sign up for a new type of Seasonal Scenario at the end of each season in Once Human, whether it's restarting the one you just finished or beginning a new one. If you don't wish to start a new one, you can even choose to stay in your current scenario for an additional four weeks, known as the Settlement Phase.
After the Settlement Phase, if you haven't chosen a new scenario, your character will automatically transfer to the Eternaland in Once Human, along with all your resources, currencies, blueprints, Deviants, gear, and other items. This doesn't mean that your character is stuck in there forever, as you can choose to join a new scenario at any time.
While most of your currencies (except Energy Links) and blueprints will transfer to the new season, you can take some of your weapons, armor, Deviants, and resources to the new scenario from Eternaland using a limited special currency that you will receive at the start of each season.
Essentially, you won't have to start afresh after your first Seasonal Scenario. Most things will carry over, except for your character level, memetics, and a majority of your resources, since you can only carry over a limited amount.
