Iron Ore is an incredibly useful mineral in Once Human, but it won't be available at the start of the game. You must progress through the game to find this crafting material. You could risk rushing early to the zone that it’s in, but it would not make sense, as the game’s main story will take you to the proper location in due course. If you’re stumped on where you can find it though, we’re here to help.
Thankfully, it’s a pretty common ore and not one you must search both high and low for. Now that Once Human has officially launched, players will be scouring the land for crafting materials, and Iron Ore is no different. Here’s what you need to know.
Where to farm Iron Ore in Once Human
You won’t start seeing Iron Ore in Once Human until you’ve reached Iron River. It’s a naming convention that certainly makes sense. It’s also incredibly easy to see minable ore locations on the ground as you’re traveling. You’ll see the large rocks jutting out from the grass or other rocky terrain. It’s easy enough to spot them - whether it’s Iron Ore or Startrace Ore.
It’s not hard to find yourself in the Iron River region, either - it’s just north of the Dayton Wetlands, where the tutorial for this survival MMO will leave you. That said, it’s a more dangerous area, so if you’re venturing into this area before the main story takes you here, you could be putting yourself in danger.
However, before you rush off into danger, make sure you have a Bronze Pickaxe - you’ll need at least that to farm Iron Ore. It takes 7x Bronze Ingots, 5x Logs, and 1x Hide. You will also need the Bronze Casting memetic, but you might already have that long before you decide you need Iron Ore in Once Human. By this time, you should also have a motorcycle, so it will be easy to explore this vast region.
If you want to farm Iron Ore, be in at least the mid-20s, to have a safe chance of exploring this region. You’re looking for the rocks that have orange streaks on them - that’s Iron Ore. While you can find it anywhere in the Iron River region, the circled section of the map is a solid place to come back to and farm this resource.
