The Once Human Wilderness Express is one of the main events in August 2024. Although many players initially assumed that this event would feature a fun racing game mode where they could compete against each other, unfortunately, that isn't the case. While there is a leaderboard, it's been plagued by players exploiting a bug to unfairly accumulate points.

Despite this issue, the event still offers lucrative rewards that make participating worthwhile. Furthermore, it resets weekly, allowing you to redo it and earn even more rewards.

What is the Once Human Wilderness Express event?

The Wilderness Express event in Once Human isn't a racing game mode as some might have expected. Instead, it's a solo or team activity where you earn a point for every meter you travel in your vehicle and five points for every time you collide with an enemy, such as Deviants, Rosetta, and Vultures.

Note that you have 90 seconds to rack up a high score, which determines your placement on your server's Leaderboard.

In addition to the Leaderboard, your accumulated points fill up a meter that unlocks rare items when you reach certain thresholds. While Leaderboard rankings offer various rewards based on your position, they are currently compromised by exploits and bugs, making it less appealing to chase high scores unless you're willing to engage in those exploits yourself.

How to participate in the Once Human Wilderness Express event

To participate in the Wilderness Express event in Once Human, you will first need to be in a vehicle. Once you are ready, press F3 on your keyboard to open the Events menu. From there, select the Wilderness Express tab on the left and click Start on the bottom right to begin the event. You will have 90 seconds to achieve a high score.

Any vehicle can be used for this event, although the Retro Coupe is the best choice due to its high top speed. Although you can earn points by colliding with enemies, it's not really worth the effort. Covering more distance will yield significantly more points than hitting the limited number of enemies in any given area, making a fast vehicle the optimal choice.
