Dog Coins in Palworld are a new form of currency that was added to the game in the Sakurajima update, along with a host of other new features. While this rare currency may be scavenged from random locations, like basic chests or wrecks, there is no guarantee. As such, there is only one consistent way to get them in the open-world RPG title.

So, how and where can players use the currency in Palworld? This guide will detail all you need to know about Dog Coins in Palworld.

Dog Coins in Palworld are a new form of currency introduced to the game. However, this currency cannot be used to buy items from any of the normal Merchants that you find in the game. Even the Black Market Merchant will not trade with you for this currency.

Dog Coins are only used to trade with the Medal Merchant in Palworld, a new NPC Merchant who only collects these coins.

Dog Coins in Palworld are obtained from a new Pal called Mimog. While exploring the game post-update, players may encounter strange black-gold-and-blue chests in the overworld. These are not inanimate objects but rather one of the several new Pals added with the Sakurajima update, called Mimog. Defeating or capturing them will net players Dog Coins in Palworld.

It should be noted, however, that Mimogs are random spawns. While they are found across a large portion of the Palpagos Islands - including the brand-new Sakurajima Island - the RNG factor means players will have to spend some time looking for them. Since they look like chests, it can be hard to discern them especially when flying in the sky.

Players lucky enough to encounter them will then face another challenge: Mimogs are quick to flee when attacked. For this reason, it is recommended to build a cage-like structure around the Mimog to prevent it from fleeing.

To achieve this, players will also need to resources such as wood or stone to craft the defensive structures, but that is not an issue as they are found abundantly in the overworld.

These new coins can be traded with the all-new Medal Merchant who also spawns in random church ruins around the game world. There are many such locales around the map, so players should beeline for the nearest one and see if a vendor spawns. He sells a variety of super rare goodies, ranging from gear to consumables like Elixirs that permanently raise player stats.
