Pantheon Rise of the Fallen entered Steam Early Access on December 13, 2024, with over 2000 active players, and it is still getting over 1500 active players every day. Developed by Visionary Realms, this game takes heavy inspiration from the classic MMO EverQuest.
While the genre is quite a niche, and most of the audience who enjoy this type of MMO is already playing games like WoW Classic or Oldschool Runescape, even in such a competitive field, Pantheon is not doing terribly, as far as the reports suggest.
In this article, we have shared all the currently available reports about the active player base in Pantheon Rise of the Fallen to help get an estimation of the population in the game.
Player count of Pantheon Rise of the Fallen
Pantheon debuted with a solid player base, peaking at 2,321 concurrent players on Steam during its launch weekend. However, this number doesn't represent the full size of the player base. According to the game’s creative director, Chris Perkins, a significant portion of players use Pantheon’s standalone launcher, meaning the total active population is likely higher.

Even with its $40 price tag for early access, plenty of players were eager to explore Terminus. Recent data from SteamDB shows that Pantheon hit a peak of 4,820 concurrent players not long after launch, and at the time of writing, the game has around 1,504 active players.
While there has been a drop from the peak, this decline is common for MMOs post-launch as casual players explore and move on or as players adjust their schedules around the holidays. If we add the players who use dedicated launchers or other methods to play the game, then we can safely assume that the game gets at least 2k-3k average players every day.
According to players on social media, Pantheon’s servers are getting full most of the time. Some playing in Lucent Tree said the server feels alive but noted the population density made it difficult to find mobs to kill. Similarly, the server was so full for some that they got to play four instances in one sitting.

However, many other reports from the players suggest that the servers are actually facing the issue of overpopulation. If the game is already struggling to run with Early Access player base, the big spike of players joining the game during full release can potentially break the game if the developers don’t tackle the issue as soon as possible.
