The Atlas of Worlds is the heart of the Path of Exile 2 experience. In Path of Exile, it effectively forms the basis of the endgame, upon which additional features are added seasonally to enhance the existing playthrough. Path of Exile 2's Atlas takes all the improvements made in the first title and attunes it to the improved gameplay systems of the sequel, to provide a familiar, yet unique experience.

This guide will feature all of the best Atlas Tree passive nodes, possible combos, and how to maximize the general profit while running Waystones in Path of Exile 2.

Atlas Passive points are granted when you complete the tier-locked quests. These are unlocked as soon as one reaches the end of Cruel Act Three in Early Access. Each quest completion adds two points to the character. Thus, completing all fifteen tiered quests will grant you a total of 30 points.

These points can be allocated to a Skill Tree that will affect any Waystone used via the Map Device. Once allocated, they can also be respecced and reallocated via Doryani. Both the Atlas of Worlds and the Atlas Passive Skill Tree are shared between any and every character on the league roster.

Possible best Atlas Passive Skill Tree setup

Unlike the Passive Skill Tree from Breach in PoE2, the one in Breach fits every Waystone that is activated. Moreover, the points allocated affect the general gameplay of the map rather than any specific league mechanic. The Passive Skill Tree can be sectioned into three parts, focusing on — drop rarity and quantity in Waystones, monster density in maps, and the effect of affixes on maps.

As of this writing, the meta is leaning quite heavily toward focusing on increasing item rarity to upgrade the currency drops into Exalted Orbs directly, as opposed to Path of Exile's focus on quantity to boost drops and get ahead of RNG. Should you wish to benefit passively, the proper setup would be to invest in increasing essences and overall item rarity in Waystones.

The ideal setup would be to specialize in Crystalline Growth and Resonant Lattice to maximize the chance of an Essence spawn. Following that, you should be taking Constant Crossroads and Lucky Pillage, alongside all the smaller rarity and quantity nodes. If you have any spare points, try going for Fortunate Path, and The High Road for more quantity and rarity.

There are three Keystones on the Atlas Passive Skill Tree, of which two are better than the third one. For this specific setup, taking Deadly Evolution will increase both the lethality and the reward of rare monsters encountered in Waystones.
