Path of Exile 2’s Beira of the Rotten Pack is one of the earliest mini-bosses you might stumble upon. Found in the Clearfell, she has incredibly dangerous powers ranging from ice attacks to summons. While she can feel incredibly strong, if you aren’t used to the changes in combat, she’s a great way to practice these. You must be both adept at dodge rolling and have prowess over a control scheme before challenging her.
Even if you’re a PoE veteran, there are changes to combat that you might not be familiar with yet. It’s worth tracking these bosses down, for both exp and powerful loot. Many of these mini-bosses drop Rare Equipment that will help carry you through the packs of enemies that await you. If you’re having trouble with Beira in Path of Exile 2, we’re here to help.

How to defeat Beira in Path of Exile 2
Beira appears on the Path of Exile 2 map Clearfell, which is very early in Act 1. Due to the random nature of the PoE 2 primary maps, we cannot pinpoint exactly where Beira will spawn. However, she’s found near a checkpoint in Clearfell. If you see a Checkpoint with icy ground nearby, you’ve found her. You will also see Blood-Witch enemies in greater numbers as well as hear her incantation as you get closer to her spawn point.
Beira in Path of Exile 2 is very quick to attack. Her opening salvo will be a series of icy AOE circles that conjure spikes after a brief delay. She will also likely immediately begin firing icicles at you — if you start moving in a circle, she’ll continue to fire in your direction, so stay on the move.
She will also shoot a wave of smaller icicles all around her in a circle, so dodge and stay out of the way if you can. Rolling through the icicle wave is also an option. You can get behind the logs nearby to evade some of her blasts. When she starts drawing in energy from around her, get back as far as you can. She unleashes an Icy Explosion and summons undead wolves.
While she uses her other attacks, she will regularly continue to fire those icicles at you, so it’s going to be very important to stay on the move during the Beira fight in Path of Exile 2. She can also turn portions of the ground icy that appear to try and chase you down. Try to stay out of those. You don’t want to be slowed by Beira.
Having ranged attacks, DOTs, curses, or anything that deals repeated damage is going to do quite well against Beira. Additionally, static skills that persistently apply lingering area damage work well. This boss barely moves, so it's easy to target her with these kinds of skills. I used a Witch with Skeletal archers, so I could launch the gas cloud, on top of other DOTs.
This fight can take a few minutes on your first attempt. Even if she defeats you, the checkpoint is right next to her. This was also the fight where I learned I preferred controller support over keyboard and mouse.
WASD felt fine too, but controller support made it easier to dodge while also attacking. Defeating her for the first time will grant you the Head of the Winter Wolf, which grants +10% Cold Resistance when used.
