If you’re looking for specific Path of Exile 2 items, you might be wondering if the game has an Auction House. ARPGs have occasionally tried having an Auction House, with mixed results. For example, the one in Diablo 3 utilized a real-money system and turned out to be incredibly popular among a small group of players - the ones making money. Still, it wound up being scrapped and removed from the game. On the other hand, PoE 1 didn’t have an in-game Auction House, but what about the sequel?
Unfortunately, you’re going to be disappointed if you want an in-game Auction House in Path of Exile 2 – at least for the time being. That can still change somewhere in the future if enough players request it. However, if you’ve got a glut of valuable crafting items like Exalted Orbs and want a specific item, it may be easier than you think.
Path of Exile 2 has an Auction House - but it’s not in-game
Although Path of Exile 2 has an Auction House, it is not in the actual game. Instead, an official Auction House can be found on the Path of Exile website. Although this third-party system might be a turn-off for some players, it is the primary option and relatively easy to use.

To use Path of Exile 2’s Auction House, you need to visit the Path of Exile 2 Trade website. The version we’ve listed is for PoE 2, as opposed to the base game, which has its own Auction House to deal with. Once there, you have a variety of options to choose from, when it comes to buying and selling.
From items, keys, waystones, and Unique armor, you can purchase a wide assortment of items at the Auction House. Once you have settled on the thing you’re after, use the various filters to attune it to what you need, and search. You can even search for only those who are online, so you can message them and set up a trade.
In my case, I was looking for a Unique Sceptre that I could equip, just to see what was on offer. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much that would fit my build at this particular juncture. You can even buy Uncut Skill Gems if that’s what you need. Many items tend to go for Exalted Orbs, but sometimes you’ll see other requests, like 2x Orb of Augmentation.
Once you’ve found the item and seller you want, just click Direct Whisper, and the site will send them a message. Interact with them in-game and arrange for the trade – that’s all you have to do. If you’re new to buying and selling in PoE 2, this guide will give you further information, as well as tips on general trading etiquette. However, do remember that if you want to list items, you need at least one Premium tab.
