Path of Exile 2 is a massively multiplayer online game with almost a million potentially active players. This means you are bound to interact with many random users from all over the world. While there are rules and guidelines in place that can regulate the conversation they have with you, it is not always guaranteed that you will never face a toxic individual who spams negativity in the chats.
Such activities can be distracting while playing the game, and even offensive at times. By the same token, in this article, we have shared everything you will need to know about hiding chat text in Path of Exile 2 and more.
What are the options for hiding the chat text in Path of Exile 2?
If you are on a PC, simply press Enter on your keyboard, or the appropriate input on your system, to open the chat window. Here, you will see multiple chat groups and channels on the header. You can left-click on these windows to hide them. On the console, you can do this through the Character Menu.
Once selected, the bar around the group’s title will turn gray, indicating it is hidden. Ensure that every chat group is grayed out. This will hide all chat channels, preventing messages from appearing during gameplay or in menus. Note that hidden messages are still stored, and can be viewed later by reopening the chat menu.
Another method you can use is to go to your game menu and open options. Once there, go to the "Interface" tab, scroll all the way down, and here, toggle the chat channels that you want to hide.

Filter chat text in Path of Exile 2
If you prefer to see only specific types of messages rather than hiding the chat entirely, you can filter chat channels. Follow the steps in the hiding chat section to open the chat menu. Use the Toggle Chat Groups option to choose the channels you want to remain visible, and then, hide the rest.
