Distilled Emotion is one of the primary currencies that drop from Path of Exile 2 Delirium. These currencies can only be farmed from enemies that spawn within a Delirium encounter, where each run grants a specific timer to gain currencies. Aside from the Emotions, players can look for the Simulacrum Splinters, which can be collected for the pinnacle boss.
However, many players wonder how these Emotions can be utilized in various ways in Path of Exile 2. To summarize, Distilled Emotions from Delirium is used to anoint an Amulet or add modifiers to a Waystone.
This article explains the basic process of anointment in Amulets, or adding modifiers to Waystones, done exclusively via the Distilled Emotions.
Distilled Emotions and how to use them in Path of Exile 2
As mentioned, the Distilled Emotions are common drops from Delirium encounters within a map. These Emotions come in many forms, such as Ire, Envy, Guilt, Greed, and much more. Each can be combined in different ways to anoint an Amulet or add a modifier in Waystones.
Anointment
The term "anoint" refers to a process where you can add a notable passive node on your Amulet by combining three specific Distilled Emotions. Each passive node requires a specific combination, which can be found on the passive tree by hovering over the node. The primary reason behind this is to gain a notable passive node located far away from your build's passives.

Suppose you are going for an armor-stacking build that requires the passive nodes on the left side of the tree. However, you also want the "Flashy Deflection" node on the tree's right side. In normal terms, it is impossible to reach the node without sacrificing a lot of passive points.
Through anointment, you can just put this passive node on your Amulet.

You can hover over the node to see which Distilled Emotions are required to anoint this passive. For Flashy Deflection, you require Guilt>Greed>Guilt Emotions for anointment. Hence, you must have these Emotions in your inventory, right-click on it, place the Amulet you want to anoint, and then put the respective Emotions in order.

The process is similar for all notable passive nodes. However, an Amulet that has been anointed before can again be anointed by sacrificing the passive node you had before.
