Omens are a late-game consumable in Path of Exile 2, obtainable in the process of the Ritual activity. To use one, you have to activate them in your inventory (right-click on PC), and an orange outline will indicate that they are primed. Afterward, the Omen will grant the specified effect, once the conditions are met. On some Omens, this means something basic like a full Life and Mana refill.
That said, the most important use case of Omens is item crafting. In this Path of Exile 2 guide, we'll explain all there is to know about Omens — what kinds there are, and how to get them.
How to get Omens in Path of Exile 2
Omens can only be acquired as possible rewards from the Ritual Altar after completing a Ritual activity. They cost different amounts of Tribute to purchase, but it ranges from 200 to 500.
This means you can either farm the Freythorn Ritual altars during the campaign (which first appear as part of the Ominous Altars quest) or try your luck with the endgame Altas nodes with Ritual on them.
Some of the crafting Omens sell for a good number of Exalted Orbs, so it's a worthwhile farm, even if you don't plan on crafting items yourself.
The other way to obtain Omens, of course, involves spending. You can purchase them from the Currency Exchange for a specified type and amount of crafting currency.
All crafting Omens in Path of Exile 2
Most of the Omens in Path of Exile 2 are for crafting. Item crafting in Path of Exile 2 is RNG-based, so the purpose of Omens is to make it a bit more deterministic when you want to tailor the perfect gear for a build.
With that in mind, here's all the crafting Omens and what they do:
Note that some of the two crafting Omens can be activated simultaneously to stack the effect. For example, activating an Omen of Sinistral Exaltation and Omen of Greater Exaltation together will cause the next Exalted Orb to add two suffix modifiers, rather than the one random modifier it usually would.
Note that activating two incompatible Omens together will simply deactivate the first one.
All non-crafting Omens in Path of Exile 2
Non-crafting Omens in Path of Exile 2 are combat tools to give you some additional protective layers on an extra juicy map or a particularly high-stakes fight, such as Pinnacle bosses.
Note that only one non-crafting Omen can be activated at any given time, and you cannot consume more than one non-crafting Omen in a particular Atlas map attempt or zone instance.
There are three non-Crafting Omens in Path of Exile 2 at the time of writing:
- Omen of Amelioration - While this item is active in your inventory, it will prevent 75% of Experience loss when you die
- Omen of Refreshment - While this item is active in your inventory, it will fully recover your flask and charm charges when you reach Low Life
- Omen of Resurgence - While this item is active in your inventory, it will fully recover your Life, Mana, and Energy Shield when you reach Low Life
