Pinnacle bosses in Path of Exile 2 should be the ultimate goal for any player. These bosses are designed with challenging mechanics, a health pool, and damage output, testing a character's build to the limit and allowing a player to recognize whether their character is worthy. However, some of these bosses are hidden deep behind league mechanics, while others can be found after hours of farming the endgame.
This article lists the basics of pinnacle bosses in Path of Exile 2 and how to encounter each during your playtime.
Pinnacle bosses and how to find them in Path of Exile 2
In the current early access of Path of Exile 2, one major pinnacle boss is included with the Atlas endgame, Arbiter of Ash. But, other league mechanics such as Ritual, Breach, Delirium, Expedition, and Ascendancy Trials also hold the key to their respective endgame bosses, also termed pinnacle bosses.
A fight with the Arbiter is inevitable, as he is included in the Atlas, the core endgame system. Regarding the league mechanics and trials, however, you can choose anyone and continue farming that pinnacle boss for loot or Atlas skill points.
Here is a list of all pinnacle bosses in Path of Exile 2 early access:
- Atlas: Arbiter of Ash
- Breach: Xesht
- Ritual: King in the Mists
- Expedition: Olroth
- Delirium: Omniphobia and Kosis
- Sanctum: Zarokh
- Ultimatum: The Trialmaster
The following list will show you how to unlock each boss fight.
Arbiter of Ash:
To gain an audience with the Arbiter, you must find three Citadels on the map and defeat the bosses that lurk within. These Citadels look like Pyramids and contain the three primary bosses from the three existing story acts. You should look for Iron, Stone, and Copper Citadels, defeat the bosses, and then pick up the Fragments.
Next, look for The Burning Monolith on the map, a large crimson structure typically found near the starting point. Head inside, and use three Fragments to start the Arbiter of Ash fight.
Xesht:
Xesht is the pinnacle boss of Breach. To fight Xesht, you must collect 300 Breach Splinters from Breach encounters on the map and combine all 300 to create a Breachstone. Next, open your Atlas map and look for a Realmgate. It can usually be found near the Zigurrat Refuge.
Use the Breachstone on the Realmgate to open portals leading to Xesht boss.
King in the Mists:
For King in the Mists, run maps with the Ritual encounters and look for an item called "Audience with the King" on the Altar inventory. It usually costs between 2000x to 4000x Tribute.
Next, use that item on the Realmgate. Go through the portals for the boss fight.
Olroth:
Olroth can be found in high-tier Expeditions Logbooks. Once you have a high-tier Logbook, speak with Dannig in your hideout. Look for a Kalguraan Tomb, identified by a blue skull on the ground, and complete that Expedition to form a hole, leading to the boss fight.
Note that a Logbook must be over level 79 to have any chance of spawning a Kalguraan Tomb as part of your Expedition.
Omniphobia and Kosis:
Omniphobia or Kosis can randomly appear on any map with an active Delirium mechanic. This mechanic can be identified on the map with a Mist icon, shown in the image below.
Interact with the mirror once you are inside a Delirium map, and either one of the two bosses can spawn to fight you.
Zarokh:
Zarokh is the final boss of a 4-trial Level 75+ Sanctum run. This is also one of the two options for the fourth Ascendancy of any character. Each run requires a Djinn Barya that will be consumed once the run has been started. Zarokh appears as the final boss in the fourth stage of Sanctum in Path of Exile 2.
The Trialmaster:
The Trialmaster can be fought after collecting three Fate Fragments from 10-room Level 80 Ultimatum. These Fragments are called Cowardly, Victorious, and Deadly and can be dropped from the boss that appears in the tenth room.
Hence, you must run the 10-room Ultimatum three times to get all three Fates and use a special door at the very end to unlock The Trialmaster boss arena. The drops are based on luck, so you may need to run it more than three times.
