The Path of Exile Zoomancer Necro build is an older one that seems set for a comeback in the new patch 3.25. This is a minion-focused build which makes it perfect for players who enjoy more passive and safe gameplay.

The upcoming Settlers of Kalguur league in Path of Exile released on July 26th from Grinding Gear Games is bringing a wave of new changes. These changes include everything from balance updates to a full melee rework to never-before-seen content. Many of these changes seem intent on shaking up the meta of Path of Exile in favor of builds that utilize melee.

In this article, we will explain how to properly set up the Zoomancer necro build, and how to level it quickly and efficiently.

The Zoomancer Necro Path of Exile build will probably not be one of the most popular ones used in patch 3.25, but it will definitely be one of the best. This build has a very safe playstyle that's great if you're looking for a change from a traditional melee or caster character.

This build doesn't have a single ability that it focuses on for combat, as all of its damage comes from powerful minions. The most important minions in your army in the Zoomancer Necro Path of Exile build will be Zombies, Crushclaw Spectres, Golems, and Animated Guardian. These minions will follow close behind wherever you go and deal melee and minion damage to nearby enemies. Other than ensuring all minions are properly summoned and using utility skills, they will do the work for you.

This build also runs several auras to buff your allies, furthering their ability to clear enemies in your stead. These auras are Determination, Hatred, Generosity, and Skitterbots. It's important that you make sure these auras are active at all times and that they are properly linked. If you link Generosity with Determination, for example, you will be depriving yourself of extra armor.

Some recommended gear pieces for a late-game Path of Exile Zoomancer Necro build are a Convening Wand, Bone Helmet, Triad Grip, and Aegis Aurora. These items will make the build expensive but capable of clearing the highest-level content.

Zoomancer Necro Leveling

Leveling a Zoomancer Necro is not the most intuitive process in Path of Exile, especially for newer players. One of the most important things to note is that you don't have access to Melee Splash Support until level 8. Until that point, you should be using non-minion skills such as Frost Bomb, Freezing Pulse, or Rolling Magma.

With Melee Splash Support purchased, you can link it to whatever you're most comfortable using. This will allow you to continue leveling with minions until the next important threshold at level 12. Now, you'll be able to obtain Absolution, the most important leveling ability for this build. The best links to use with Absolution are:

  • Minion Damage Support
  • Added Lightning Damage Support
  • Added Cold Damage Support

After reaching Act 2, you will gain access to the Summon Skitterbots aura. This is an aura you will be using both in leveling and in the endgame. When setup specifically, it provides great damage and utility. Once you've obtained this skill, you should utilize it as soon as possible.

With both Absolution and Skitterbots implemented into your Path of Exile Zoomancer Necro build, you will have everything you need to finish the campaign.
