Prophet of Doom is one of the seven weapons that got re-issued with new perks in Destiny 2 Revenant. This Arc Precision Framed Shotgun has always been a powerful gear piece, even before the recent changes. The archetype itself can hold up against some of the most challenging bosses in the game.

Note that the Prophet of Doom is a Precision Framed weapon, not to be confused with a Precision Slug Shot weapon. This article lists the best perks to use on the Shotgun in PvP and PvE.

The new Prophet of Doom Shotgun can have the following perks for the best performance in Destiny 2 PvE:

  • Barrel Shroud for increased Stability and Handling
  • Assault Mag for increased RPM and Stability
  • Threat Detector for increased Handling, Reload Speed, and Stability when more enemies are nearby
  • One-Two Punch for increased melee damage after landing all barrel shots on the enemy

Voltshot can directly replace One-Two Punch in the fourth column if you want to clear mobs. Other decent perks include Pugilist for melee energy, and Cascade Point for a significant rise in fire rate.

Players should avoid the combination of Reconstruction and Voltshot, as the former perk can overflow the magazine, allowing no room for reloading. The latter perk, Voltshot, cannot be activated without reloading. Hence, these two perks together should be avoided at all costs.

The new Prophet of Doom Shotgun can have the following perks for the best performance in PvP:

  • Full Choke for tightened barrel and less projectile spread
  • Accurized Rounds for increased Range on the weapon
  • Threat Detector for increased Handling, Reload Speed, and Stability when more enemies are nearby
  • Closing Time for increased Range, Handling, and Accuracy as the magazine gets lower. The main stat to look out for is the Range, which is a great +25 boost with the final bullet.

Opening Shot is a great perk to have in the fourth column as well.
