A collaboration between Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2 New Genesis) and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been officially announced by Sega. If you are an anime fan, there's a high chance you know what Frieren is and how exciting this event can be for the community of PSO 2: New Genesis.

With this new collaboration, you will get the chance to receive new character skins, participate in events, and more, that are focused and themed around the popular manga and anime, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. All you need to know about the PSO2 New Genesis x Frieren crossover event

The PSO2: New Genesis x Frieren crossover event will begin on January 8, 2025, and will be available on multiple platforms. However, if you plan to play it on the Nintendo Switch, you may be disappointed to learn that this cloud-based MMORPG can only be played on the handheld in Japan. Those outside the country can play it on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

During the collaboration event, you can acquire avatar parts to dress your characters as key figures from the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End franchise, including Frieren, Fern, and Stark. Additionally, you can equip weapon camouflages modeled after the weapons used by these characters in the anime.

A special emote inspired by the anime will also become available, allowing you to recreate the iconic pose that Frieren does in the anime and the manga when she gets stuck in mimic chests.

Logging in during the event period will reward you with various items, including acrylic stand-style build parts based on Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen. You will also receive special scratch tickets, Star Gems (SG), and Genesis Points (GP).

Collecting the themed scratch tickets is essential as they will provide many featured exclusive items, including avatar parts and weapon camouflages. You can purchase or earn these tickets through in-game events and activities in PSO2 New Genesis.
