The Feybreak update in Palworld has introduced a new wave of content, including an exciting new mode called the Random Pal Mode. This is what Pokémon fans have been wishing for years, but instead of Nintendo, the Palworld developers stepped forward and added an in-built randomizer to their game. This mode can completely change how you play Palworld.
If you're getting tired of the same spawn locations or the same progression in each of your playthroughs, you can spice things up using the Random Pal Mode for a fresh, new experience each time. In this guide, we’ve shared everything you need to know about the Random Pal Mode in Palworld.
What is Random Pal mode in Palworld?
Random Pal Mode is a gameplay setting that randomizes the spawn locations of Pals—the creatures you collect and interact with in Palworld. Accessible from the World Settings, this mode offers two distinct options for randomization:
- Randomize by Region: Pals are shuffled within their respective regions.
- Completely Random: Pals spawn in any location across the map, creating a chaotic environment.
By enabling one of these modes, you can make each of your playthroughs unique.

Randomize by Region
In this mode, Pals spawn in unexpected places but remain within their original regions. For example, a creature typically found near a specific water body may appear in a different water-adjacent spot within the same region.
Completely Random
This mode allows any Pal to appear anywhere, regardless of biomes or regions. You might encounter rare Pals in beginner areas or find lower-tier creatures in challenging zones. This mode is inspired by the randomizer mods that are quite popular in the Pokemon community.

When you use a Randomizer mod in the Pokemon games, you get a similar effect where you have the chance to find Legendary monsters even in the starting area. Another popular mod in the Pokemon community is the Nuzlock mod which makes each death permanent in the game.
Palworld has also introduced a similar feature with their new Hardcore mode. Just like Nuzlocke, all deaths in the Hardcore mode are permanent. This mode can also be enabled using the World Settings menu.
