Destiny 2 leaks hint at a complete overhaul of the seasonal model

Multiple Destiny 2 leaks have surfaced online following the series of layoffs at Bungie. Most of this information involves the game's future, alongside significant changes to the core seasonal models. Additionally, it seems that the company is leaning toward releasing fewer seasons each year, alongside minor DLCs instead of expansions.

A complete seasonal overhaul leaked for Destiny 2

The following is a list of leaks regarding the upcoming season of Destiny 2 next year:

No more week-to-week story beats.
One intro mission explaining the "why" of the mission and that will be it.
Narrative-wise, in-game NPCs will interact with each other for banter
Base-level activities available for seasonal gear pieces
Higher tier of these activities will be available for higher-tier rewards. This is to prep for a special "Rally Event" in seasons.
Rally Event will occur twice per season, forcing players to only use seasonal armor pieces and weapons.
Other activities will include PvP, fireteam-based, and Pinnacle activity.
More challenging versions of these activities will be available as well, with better rewards.

It is important to note that the entire Destiny 2 model is shifting to a "2 DLC and 2 seasons per year" loop, starting from 2025. Hence, players will get four Rally events per year in total, with other activities available on the side.

Liz, one of the most renowned dataminers, clarified that the new model for seasons will be a huge blow to only the narrative, keeping the gameplay unaffected.
