The best Sorcerer leveling build in Diablo 4 Season 5 is what new and returning players are going to want to try out. The Chain Lightning build is far and away the most efficient and powerful setup for this character. If you're a seasoned player, then this will get you through early and mid-game quickly, and if you're new, it will make your learning curve much easier.

In the new Season 5 of Diablo 4, Blizzard has introduced plenty of interesting new mechanics and gameplay loops for players to explore. These include Hellbreach Dungeons and Infernal Hordes, both of which focus on a rogue-like style of gameplay. This build is perfect for running the new content, as its AOE will perform beautifully against the unending waves that will be sent against you.

In this guide, we're going to go over why the Chain Lightning Sorcerer is the best leveling build, and how you can use it optimally.

When leveling your Season 5 Sorcerer, it's better to use a dedicated leveling build than to try and force your endgame one to work in early and mid-game. This Chain Lightning build will see you coast through the earlier stages of Diablo 4 quests and leveling so you can get to the fun stuff sooner. If you've been playing for a while and want to get to the endgame as soon as possible, then this is the route to take.

This setup uses Chain Lightning as its main source of damage while relying on Arc Lash to generate mana. You should also take skills such as Ice Armor and Teleport for defensive measures. The utility you'll want comes mainly from Hydra which will mainly help with smaller straggler enemies.

Below we'll give a full list of skills to make your build as strong as possible during Season 5 of Diablo 4:

While leveling, be it in the campaign, open-world events, or a Diablo 4 Hellbreach Dungeon you should keep your eyes peeled for certain gear pieces. This leveling build doesn't require any specific uniques or legendaries to function, but there are a few that will boost your power. It's worth noting that you really don't need to reach for these pieces, as the build is plenty strong without them.

If you are, however, particularly keen on getting this armor to boost your leveling speed, there are a few ways to increase your odds. First, choosing to do open-world content over the campaign will make it much more likely that you'll encounter high-level loot. You can also opt to run the new Hellbreach Dungeons to level. By collecting as much Aether as you can in these, you can access rare chests after your run.

Here's a full list of the best gear pieces to have for this build, if you're lucky enough to come across them:

With these skills, and ideally a few pieces of gear, you'll have no issue getting through any early and mid-game content. So if you're hoping to main a Sorcerer for the Season of the Infernal Hordes then this is the perfect place to start.
