Synthweaving in SWTOR is a crafting crew skill. There are six crafting skills that you can choose from in the game: Armormech, Artifice, Armstech, Biochem, Cybertech and Synthweaving. If you choose Synthweaving as your crafting skill, you will be able to craft armor pieces and item modifications like armoring, augments, and augmentation kits. You can also deconstruct your crafted pieces to get new crafting schematics.

In this guide, we will go over all you need to know about Synthweaving.

How to get and level up Synthweaving in SWTOR?

To start crafting, you need to complete the quests on your starting planet and get to level 10. Once you reach the Fleet, you can pick up the Synthweaving crafting skill from the vendor at the 'Strongholds and Crew Skills' section. For the Empire, the name of the vendor is Lord Jerren. For the Republic, it’s Master Obip.

As of SWTOR update 7.5., the highest level you can reach with all the crafting skills is 700. To level up Synthweaving, you need to craft bonded attachments using crafting materials.

You need gathering crew skills to get crafting materials. For Synthweaving, the gathering skills you need are:

  • Archaeology
  • Underworld Trading

Note that if you are a free-to-play player, you only get one crew skill slot, so you have to divide Synthweaving, Archaeology, and Underwold Trading among three characters. If you are a preferred player, you get two crew skill slots, so you can divide the three skills between two characters. If you are a subscriber, you get three slots, enabling you to have all three skills in one character.

Crew skills are character-bound, but if you transfer a character from one SWTOR server to another, you can still retain your crew skills.

You need to craft bonded attachments to level up your Synthweaving.

Apart from these, you can also craft items that are available to all crafting skills, like prefabs, fabricator cystals, dark projects, war supplies, etc. The highest rated gear you can craft is for level 75.
