Basic Early Game DPS Rotation for Bard (1-1-3, 4, 1-1-3):

Why:

  • The 1-1-3 combo is your primary damage dealer because it scales best with your attack power and provides the highest base damage.
  • This combo also grants a personal damage buff lasting 25 seconds, which is crucial for maximizing your overall damage output.

How:

  1. Start with 1-1-3 to apply the damage buff to yourself.
  2. Use skill 4, which does high damage and further increases your damage bonuses for a short time.
  3. Return to 1-1-3 to maintain high damage output and refresh the buff when needed.

This rotation ensures you always have your damage buff active before using your high-damage cooldown abilities, creating a cycle of increasing damage output.

Why:

  • Elegant Melody upgrades your skill 2, making it more powerful and applying a stackable DoT (Damage over Time) effect.
  • This talent changes your optimal rotation to balance between maintaining the DoT and using your highest damage abilities.

How:

  1. Start with 1-1-3 for the initial damage buff.
  2. Use 2-2-3 to apply and stack the DoT quickly.
  3. Follow with 2-3 to maintain the DoT.
  4. Use 1-4-3 for high burst damage.
  5. Continue with 1-2-3 and 1-1-3 to balance damage types and maintain buffs.

This rotation maximizes your damage by keeping the DoT active, using your most powerful abilities, and maintaining your buffs throughout the fight.

AOE Rotation:

Why:

  • Bard's AOE rotation is unique due to its cooldown reduction mechanic when hitting multiple targets.
  • It's highly effective against groups of 5 or more enemies.

How:

  1. Begin with 1-1-3 to activate your damage buff.
  2. Use skill 4 to further increase damage.
  3. Spam skill 5 as long as you're hitting 5+ targets.
  4. Weave in 1-1-3 combos between AOE casts when possible to maintain your buff.

For fewer targets:

  • With 4 targets, skill 5 has a 1-second cooldown
  • With 3 targets, it has a 2-second cooldown
  • Use basic skills (1 or 3) during these short cooldowns

Remember to only use AOE rotation against 3 or more targets, as your single-target rotation is more effective for 1-2 enemies.

Additional Tips:

  1. Practice these rotations to build muscle memory.
  2. Always be aware of your buff durations and try to refresh them before they expire.
  3. Adapt your rotation based on the fight mechanics and your current talent build.
  4. For sustained fights, focus on maintaining a steady rhythm of abilities rather than bursting everything at once.
  5. Keep an eye on your resources (mana, energy, etc.) and adjust your rotation if needed to avoid running out mid-fight.
