If you plan on playing Freyna in The First Descendant, you want to have the Fallen Hope Ultimate weapon. While it’s not as great against bosses, it’s an unstoppable force of destruction against groups of enemies. This weapon synergizes perfectly with poison attacks and abilities. It boasts a unique ability called Perdition which causes an impressive explosion when defeating a poisoned enemy - and even spreads the poison further.
While other characters can use this weapon as well, Fallen Hope is arguably the best possible pick for Freyna, The First Descendant’s queen of poison. If you’re looking to get the most out of this weapon, we’re here to help.
How to unlock Fallen Hope in The First Descendant
To begin farming for Fallen Hope in The First Descendant, you need the White-night Gulch area completely unlocked. All four ingredients for this weapon drop in that zone, so unless you get lucky enough to get all the parts as you progress through the zone, it helps to have it all unlocked before you begin.
We recommend doing some of these missions grouped, as they can be a little rough on solo players.
Below are the four ingredients for crafting Fallen Hope and where to get them:
- Fallen Hope Polymer Synctium: White-night Gulch, Border Line of Truth (20% chance to drop)
- Fallen Hope Synthetic Fiber: White-night Gulch, Eye of Truth (20% chance to drop)
- Fallen Hope Nano Tube: White-night Gulch, Altar (20% chance to drop)
- Fallen Hope Blueprint: White-night Gulch, Hatchery, Lower Hatchery (20% chance to drop)
Now all you need is the 100,000 Gold and 4 hours to craft this via Anais.
What makes Fallen Hope so useful in The First Descendant is its unique ability: Perdition. This ability description reads as follows:
“On hitting a Poisoned enemy, increase Firearm ATK and apply this buff to the attack. On defeating a Poisoned enemy, the defeated enemy will trigger an Explosion with a certain chance, inflicting additional damage to nearby enemies. Inflicts Poison on enemies damaged by this explosion.”

The most important weapon Modules for The First Descendant’s Fallen Hope are Action and Reaction, Rifling Reinforcement, and Toxic Enhancement, and as such should be prioritized.
If you want to clear out groups of enemies, Fallen Hope is one of the best Ultimate weapons for you - especially if you play Freyna. Other characters can use this loadout too, but Freyna will get more out of it, in the form of higher DPS. While there are many ways to build this gun, this is the loadout that works best for us:
- Action and Reaction
- Recycling Genius
- Aiming Compensation
- Expand Weapon Charge
- Sharp Precision Shot
- Rifling Reinforcement
- Concentrate Support Ammo
- Reload Expert
- Fire Rate UP
- Toxic Enhancement
While Fallen Hope isn’t the best weapon for fighting bosses, there are Core Modules you can use to help in that department. While it has poor Crit Chance Scaling, it has decent Crit Damage Scaling. This isn’t the ideal use of the weapon in the first place, but if you’re going to use it to engage bosses, these are the weapon Modules you should choose:
- Action and Reaction
- Expand Weapon Charge
- Have Aiming
- Recycling Genius
- Real-Life Fighter
- Rifling Reinforcement
- Better Concentration
- Reload Insight
- Fire Rate UP
- Elemental Enhancement Vs. Weakness
