The First Descendant BLue Beetle
The Blue Beetle takes a heck of a grind, but it's worth having in The First Descendant (Image via Nexon)

The Blue Beetle is one of The First Descendant’s powerful Ultimate Scout Rifles. A solid weapon with the incredible Arcane Wave unique ability, it’s designed for players that use a lot of Singular and Fusion abilities. Either way, it will have a chance to trigger a useful ability: Arcane Energy or Purification. It’s a weapon that takes a long time to grind for, much less unlock, but it will be worth it if it fits your playing style.

Quite a few characters use Fusion or Singular abilities, such as Esiemo or Gley. Keeping that in mind, this could be a weapon you find yourself using on either of those characters, depending on your preferred gun and playstyle.

If you want to unlock Blue Beetle in The First Descendant, here’s how, what to slot into it, and what its special ability does.

While working on this gun, you will also be able to use Weapon Readjustment to change its starts. One of the better picks for this gun is Chill ATK, as you have a chance to completely stop enemies dead in their tracks, allowing you to continue shooting away at them.

When considering a loadout for the Blue Beetle in The First Descendant, we wanted Firearm ATK, Critical Hit Rate, Fire Rate, and Chill Elemental mods. This gives a ton of synergy and plenty of damage to whatever you’re aiming at. That means mods like Rifling Reinforcement, Chill Priority, Snowflake Conductor, and Chill Enhancement.

  • Rifling Reinforcement
  • Anti-matter Round
  • Marksman
  • Chill Enhancement
  • Snowflake Conductor
  • Better Concentration
  • Better Insight
  • Fire Rate UP
  • Weak Point Sight
  • Chill Priority

Arcane Wave is Blue Beetle’s unique ability in The First Descendant. When using a Fusion Skill, it grants the unique ability Arcane Energy, with a set chance. When using a Singular skill, it grants you the unique ability Purification, also with a set chance. However, what do those actually mean?

Arcane Energy grants Skill Critical Hit Rate chance. If you swap guns while the buff is available, the buff disappears. To help with this, you could get a new Reactor with Blue Beetle mounting on it. On the other hand, you have Purification, which immediately removes all debuffs from you when using Singular skills. Admittedly, you do need to use a Singular skill to trigger it, but you have an on-demand cleanse, and that’s incredible.
