The First Descendant’s Esiemo excels at one thing, and one thing only: Violence. With powerful DPS in both single-target and AOE, he brings lots of damage no matter the situation. However, he doesn’t really bring much in the way of self-preservation, so that’s something to keep in mind while you play this particular character. He’s relatively tanky, but his ultimate can put him in dangerous situations. He still deals solid damage, but he might excel more in a team.
Bringing someone like Yujin or Jayber in The First Descendant could go a long way in making sure Esiemo stays alive to slaughter enemies. While they may not be the highest-tier character, he’s incredibly fun to play.

The First Descendant Esiemo skill breakdown
Esiemo has some pretty interesting skills in The First Descendant, except for his passive. Adventitious Habit might be one of the weakest passives in the game. It drops a bomb when your shield runs out, so it puts you in danger and has a cooldown of 30 seconds. However, to compare, he does have one of the best ultimates in the game: Arche Explosion.
Charge at an enemy, deal AOE damage, knockback, and you get Madness (increases Firearm ATK by a significant portion). It’s great in most cases, but I’d avoid using it on bosses; being within melee range of something that can one-shot you isn’t a great idea unless you’re sure you can get out.
The rest of his kit involves dropping landmines and bombs, and you can detonate the bombs remotely when you have enough of them out. You can put them on walls, set them at enemy spawn points, or just on the ground. There are a lot of great uses for these, and they hit pretty hard.

The First Descendant Esiemo build: What are the best Modules to use?
While Esiemo is incredibly fun to play, and his ultimate deals tons of damage, it has a pretty major drawback: It puts you in melee range of many things. Since he's a DPS character, he's not too tanky.
With that in mind, we’re going to increase his range, shields, and defensive stats as much as we can. This will benefit our other skills, allowing us to throw bombs and mines farther, and survive longer in dangerous situations.
- Cluster Bomb: Detonating an attached bomb creates additional explosives at the explosion’s location.
- Increased Shield: Increases your Max Shield.
- Fire Specialist: Increases the Skill Power of your Fire Skills.
- Skill Expansion: Increases the overall Effect Range of your Skills.
- Dual Claw: Changes Sub Attack into Dual Claw strike. Increases Max Module Capacity.
- Technician: Increases Skill power.
- Increased DEF: Increases DEF stat
- Increased HP: Increases Max HP stat.
- Time Distribution: Decreases Skill Cooldown and increases Max HP
- Technique Manual: Hitting a target with a Skill deals a portion of your Max HP as extra damage to the target. 8s Cooldown per target hit
Best Reactor for Esiemo in The First Descendant
It’s pretty easy to figure out what you need on Esiemo in The First Descendant since all he does is drop fire damage. That means you’re going to want to see Reactors with the Burning title. Specifically, these are the best Reactors to use on Esiemo:
- Burning Mechanics (Fire/Tech)
- Burning Mixture (Fire/Fusion).
You’re also looking for Skill Power, Skill Critical Hit Damage, and then Sub Attack Power.
Best weapon to use with Esiemo build in The First Descendant
Secret Garden is arguably the best weapon in The First Descendant to pair up with your Esiemo build. This Special Rounds Tactical Rifle comes with an Unique passive that gives you the Pest Control buff when using Tech skills - increasing both your firepower and your Skill damage steadily.
Best External components to use on Esiemo
Even though Esiemo’s passive drops a bomb whenever your shield depletes, we’ve still been focused on increasing overall shield generation. That’s because his passive is mediocre, and not something to focus on.
That’s why, when it comes to his External components, that’s a stat we’re looking for. In particular, you want DEF, Max Shield, Max Health, and HP Recovery in that order. You won't always get the ideal stats, so just work with the best options you have when leveling.
