The First Descendant is going to release its next patch, hotfix 1.0.7, on August 13, Tuesday. Game Director Minseok Joo previewed some of the changes on this patch this week in a letter to the community, including changes to the most annoying thing about Void Reactors. Compounded with the Void Shard farming and Vulgus outpost changes in previous patches, hotfix 1.0.7 will make for a comfortable open-world loop.
The final road bump in this loop to be eliminated is the high HP scaling on Void Reactor miniboss spawns. While these are not as tanky as Void Intercept bosses, their HP pool is certainly too large compared to other Elite enemies in hard mode, making them a slog for rapid farming.
That said, this is not the only big change coming in The First Descendant patch 1.0.7. Read on for a detailed overview.
A preview of all the changes in The First Descendant patch 1.0.7 (known so far)
As the Director's letter highlights in a recent official blog post, The First Descendant patch 1.0.7 will tackle a lot of QoL improvements from Hard-Mode Infiltration Operations to per-loadout Socket Assignment. Here are the highlights at a glimpse:
Hard-Mode Infiltration Operation changes
Grappling Hook Disabled and Jump Disabled debuffs will be removed from the randomized challenge pool.
- A later change in Season 1, coming August 28, will change the zone occupation objectives in Infiltration dungeons to eliminating enemies, which will make them much more convenient for glass-cannon builds.

End-of-mission QoL adjustments in Void Intercept Battles and Special Operations
After the Void Intercept battles end, standing in lava or hazardous elements like Stunning Beauty's ice shards will no longer hurt you.
- The auto-extract to Albion is further delayed, and there are a few new UI options with ‘Restart with Squad’ and ‘Restart Alone’ buttons.
- Frost Walker is finally getting some QoL changes to make the boss less of a hassle in public matchmade squads.
- In Special Operation, AFK players will be moved automatically to the 'Abort' selection during Interim Review.
Build freedom with per-loadout socket assignment
Assign Sockets will change the socket type on all loadouts upon first application of Crystallization Catalyst.
- However, in the future, additional Crystallization Catalysts can be spent to specifically target one slot on one loadout. This makes individual characters bigger resource sinks but makes character build paths more non-committal.
Other miscellaneous changes
Monster spawn intervals will be shortened in Void Fragments (Poison Attribute) located at 'Echo Swamp - Derelict Covert'.
- Using ability weapons like Luna's Stage Presence or Gley's Massacre will no longer prevent proficiency gain on weapons.
- The aforementioned HP rescaling on Void Reactor monsters.
The post also mentions UI improvements, including icons on External Components and Reactors to help you filter them without combing through each.
"In Hotfix 1.0.7, we’re adding a feature that allows you to quickly identify key information about your equipment by looking at icons in the inventory. You'll be able to see how many ultimate options an item has without opening its tooltip and identify the attributes & Arche types of Reactors through icons. Additionally, we’re speeding up the tooltip display to help you sort valuable items more efficiently."
All in all, more changes are likely on the board for the upcoming patch 1.0.7. We will find out more about it when the full patch notes are released. Until then, you can peruse our other guides on The First Descendant:
