Dead Bride, a boss in The First Descendant, doesn't appear challenging initially but can be quite difficult to overcome if you don’t know what you are doing. She has a very strong defense, breaking which can be a nightmare. But unlike the Hanging Man in the First Descendant, she is quite straightforward to deal with.

Go solo instead of teaming up

Key points:

• The Dead Bride’s shield is ¾th of her total HP.
• Go Solo as it will make the fight easier.

The Dead Bride is a Damage Sponge boss with not much complexity. Her total HP mostly being her shields makes her frustrating to kill. But, you can make the fights easier if choose to go solo.

Preparation

Key points:

• Equip three weapons: one with primary ammo, one with special ammo, and one with heavy ammo.
• Bring a long-range weapon like a scout rifle or sniper rifle.
• Aim for levels 37-38 or higher before attempting this boss fight.

Although the boss is not that hard, you need to inflict a lot of damage to kill her. That’s why we recommend being at least level 37 to tackle this boss. Bring long-range weapons because she spams powerful attacks close to her and you will do well to maintain distance.

Do your homework

Key points:

• Check the boss screen for weak points and attack types.
• Note that the boss is weak to fire damage.
• Consider using gear with chill resistance.

Before tackling the fight, try to do your research about the boss and make sure you are well-equipped against cold/chill damage.

When you need to run away

When the boss turns completely white and creates a giant white bubble, Immediately grapple out or move away from the radius. This attack can one-hit kill you if you're inside the bubble. You can't damage the boss during this phase, which lasts for 20-30 seconds.

Targeting weak spots

Key points:

• Scan the boss to highlight weak spots on the boss.
• When weak spots turn from blue to yellow, you can grapple onto them.
• Grappling and destroying armor pieces will stagger the boss.
• Focus on DPS during stagger phases for maximum damage.

While staggered, it’s your best shot to do some significant damage. Melt her shields while she is down.

Combat strategy

Key points:

• Keep your distance from the boss most of the time.
• The boss will focus on one player at a time. If it's targeting you, stay far away.
• If you are going solo, keep moving. Her attacks are slow so you can easily dodge them.
• Melt her HP by focusing on the weak points.

This is one of the most straightforward bosses in the game. Just keep your distance, keep damaging, and keep moving.

Tips

Key points:

• Watch for an ability that can hit you from anywhere on the map.
• When you see this attack coming, stop attacking and move out of the way.
• Beware of her teleportation.

Once she is down to a certain HP mark, the Dead Bride will start using a powerful attack that can hit you anywhere on the map. The tell for this attack is the blue bars that appear on the map, which show the location where the blast will strike. If you are being targeted, stop shooting and start running until the blast is done. Also, she can teleport and appear anywhere on the map. Beware of this move.
