The First Descendant: How does the Title system work?

The First Descendant allows you to customize your account in numerous ways, including letting you pick a Title. This allows further personalization of your chosen Descendant. Other players will likely have a similar hero as yours when you pair up with them to tackle missions. Using Titles will help you make your unit stand out. However, applying them can be a tad confusing and may even get overlooked by players invested in the grind.

How to use Titles in The First Descendant?

Titles are tags that can be assigned to your player account in Nexon's latest sci-fi looter shooter. To apply or change a Title, you simply need to open the Inventory and click your profile name in the upper-left corner. This will bring up a menu where you can mix and match words to create a new Title.

The way it works is that the menu will have two columns of words to pick from. The column on the right will have suffixes and the one on the left prefixes. As such, players can pick any word from the left and pair them with one from the right for the desired effect, like "Budding Explorer," "Strange Poet," and more.

To equip a Title, simply select the prefix and suffix and back out of the menu, and the change should be reflected in the Inventory. Furthermore, players will be able to see this equipped moniker above their username on their character's head.

It does not serve any other purpose besides letting you differentiate yourself from other players who have picked the same Descendant as you, so that is all there is to the Title system.

However, some of you may notice that you may be going through several hours of gameplay without any Titles being unlocked in The First Descendant. This is simply because the Titles have not been redeemed. As you progress through the game and complete objectives, new suffixes and prefixes are unlocked under the "Awards" section in the Journal tab.

Simply head there and redeem the rewards for the completed challenges, which usually consist of Titles but may occasionally offer other cosmetic bonuses like sprays.

Titles are earned across a variety of categories, from reaching new Mastery Ranks to completing objectives on the various maps like infiltrating Vulgus Outposts in The First Descendant.
