Cosmetics in The First Descendant tend to cost an arm and a leg, but thankfully, you can get some for free via Twitch Drops rewards. All you have to do is watch officially sponsored streams of the game on Twitch, and you will slowly rake up tiered Twitch rewards if they're available.
If you're not familiar with the concept of Twitch Drops or don't know how to claim these for The First Descendant, we got you covered with this guide. We'll go over what freebies are available right now and how to get them.
Note that The First Descendant Twitch drops will change each month, so if you already claimed all of the rewards shown here, check back again after July 29 for more.
All The First Descendant Twitch Drop rewards this month (July 2024)
This month, players will be rewarded with the following Twitch drops for watching The First Descendant Streams. Each drop requires a cumulative number of hours watched between July 2 and July 4, 12:00 am PDT.
While the amount of Kuiper Shards and Gold you can get from the rewards this month is a pittance, the cosmetics are exclusive to The First Descendant Twitch drop program.
Note that the Paint you get here does not function like other games like Warframe. In The First Descendant, you need to own a custom skin or headgear for a character first in order to recolor them. Plus, the Paint items are consumed upon coloring your chosen item once - so use them wisely.
How to claim Twitch drops from The First Descendant
To claim The First Descendant Twitch drops, you need to link your Nexon Account to Twitch first. Here's how:
- Create a Nexon account and log into it (If you're playing through Steam or Microsoft account, you may log in as guest through those too).
- Make sure you have a mail-verified Twitch account that you are logged into.
- Go to https://tfd.nexon.com/en/twitch-drops, and click on 'Link Account'.
- If you are given the login prompt again, select Login through Nexon ID (Or whichever you selected in the first step).
- A message box will let you know that Account linking is now complete.
Afterwards, go to Twitch and watch any The First Descendant stream with Drops enabled. If you are doing it right, a progress bar will appear tracking your progress towards the next available reward. You can find this on the drop-down menu opened by clicking on your profile icon on the top right.
Once you've watched long enough to receive a Twitch reward, you have to go to your Twitch inventory page and click 'Claim', and the Drop will be delivered to your game.
Once you've loaded into The First Descendant, go to Options > Accounts, click on Link Nexon Account if you linked your Twitch to your Nexon ID. The Drops you claimed will now be available at the Mailbox in Albion.
Are The First Descendant Twitch drops not working right now?
If your Drops have not arrived yet after Claiming it from Twitch Inventory, you are not alone. The First Descendant is currently facing an issue with delivering Twitch rewards to users across all platforms. This is one of the many post-launch technical problems Nexon is currently working on, so all you can do for now is wait.
Nexon has not officially put out any announcements regarding what could be causing The First Descendant 'Twitch drops not working' error yet. However, it is likely related to the technical issue that caused beta participation rewards to not appear for some eligible players.
