The First Descendant update today reduces Vulgus Outpost cooldown and makes farming Void Fragments much easier (patch notes)

The First Descendant's latest hotfix, 1.0.4, has brought some potentially massive changes. What was originally meant to crack down on the currently meta 'Valby runs' have indirectly resulted in tremendous buffs to farming Vulgus Outposts for their drops. Moreover, Void Fragments are no longer exclusively tied to 'Destroy Void Fragment' activities - they are way easier to farm now.

With these two changes, much of the equipment-unlocking loop in The First Descendant is far more streamlined. Vulgus Outposts will drop Amorphous Materials four times as fast with only a one-minute cooldown, and with the easier Void Fragment drops, Void Reactors are a far more viable way to crack them open.

All changes in The First Descendant hotfix 1.0.4: Official patch notes (July 24)

The patch went live today at 5:30 AM ET (July 24, 2024). Here are the changes in the 1.0.4 hotfix:

• Module storage limit has been increased from 1000 to 1500.
• The cooldown for " Vulgus Strategic Outpost" has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute.
• The spawning time between monster respawns has been increased, and the reward amount has been adjusted at the " Vulgus Strategic Outpost".
• Void Fragments will now drop when defeating monsters in Special Operation. There will be the most void fragment drops at the Special Operation "Neutralize Void Experiment."
• Using "Mark for Arrest" item obtained from Special Operation will grant ten times the usual amount of gold. When "Mark for Arrest" is used from ‘consumable’ tab, it will convert to 100,000 gold, and "High-Value Mark for Arrest" will convert to 1,000,000 gold.
