Leveling up in Throne and Liberty is paramount. This MMO by NCSoft features many RPG mechanics, like customization stats, skills, various builds, as well as weapons of various rarities. However, to use all of them, you must to reach the appropriate levels. So, we share a few tips you can use to level up faster in Throne and Liberty.
Tips for leveling up faster in Throne and Liberty
Prioritize Adventure Codex for fast progression
The Adventure Codex should be your top priority while leveling, as these quests (marked with a purple star) are designed to guide you through the main storyline and progression system, ensuring you hit the maximum level of 50 quickly. These codex quests pull you through the game faster than any other quests, as they unlock core mechanics, gear, and story events that are pivotal to your character's growth.
Constantly check your Adventure Codex to ensure you’re following the optimal quest path. Completing these quests can even reward you with valuable items like rare gear and epic pieces of armor, making it unnecessary to deviate to side quests or grinding early on.

Stack Contracts with similar objectives
Contracts are side tasks tied to the Adventure Codex and can speed up leveling when done smartly. To maximize efficiency, stack Contracts with overlapping objectives. For example, if you have a contract to kill Goblin Fighters and another to kill a Goblin Shaman, you can knock out both simultaneously by tackling areas where these enemies spawn. This lets you complete multiple Contracts in the same combat area without wasting time traveling or backtracking.
Additionally, Contracts often reward you with valuable items like Lithographs and materials, which will be useful later in the game, especially for accessory upgrades. Prioritize Contracts that offer Accessory Lithographs to ensure you have enough by Chapter 4 for vital upgrades.
Properly upgrade your gear and craft as you progress
Your gear plays a critical role in how fast you level up. As you work through the Adventure Codex, you will be required to craft and upgrade your gear and skills. Early on, focus on crafting a full set of green armor, one green accessory, and one green weapon. The Adventure Codex will reward you with additional rare accessories, weapons, and armor for completing specific chapters.
For instance, completing Chapter 1 fully grants you another green weapon, and as you progress, you’ll unlock various rare pieces of armor and an Epic piece of armor in Chapter 10.
Choose high DPS weapon combos for early leveling
The weapon combination you choose can significantly impact your leveling speed. If your goal is to level up quickly, prioritize high-DPS weapon combos that allow you to defeat enemies faster. A great early-game combo is Staff and Dagger, which provides high-damage AoE attacks, allowing you to clear enemies efficiently.
While tanky builds like Sword and Shield offer better survivability, they slow down your progress because of their lower damage output. Once you’ve cleared the early stages with your DPS build, consider switching to survivable builds.
Upgrade Skills strategically
Skill upgrades play a massive role in your character’s combat efficiency. To optimize your leveling, avoid investing too heavily in one or two skills early on. Instead, aim to have all of your Skills and Passives upgraded to blue before focusing on upgrading any to purple.
A well-rounded skillset ensures you have a balanced combination of offense and defense, preventing enemies from overwhelming you in difficult encounters. Tanks should invest in CC (crowd control) Skills and passives that boost defense, while DPS characters should focus on skills that enhance critical hits and mana regeneration. This will maximize your damage output while maintaining enough defense to avoid constant deaths.

Don’t skip Appendix Quests
While they may not seem essential at first, Appendix Quests unlock critical game mechanics and help you understand the game. These are short side objectives that reveal how the game’s systems work and provide useful rewards.
If you aim for long-term success, completing these Appendix Quests will save you time later by ensuring you have access to all the mechanics and accessories needed to tackle harder chapters efficiently. They may slightly slow down your leveling process, but their benefits make them worth completing along the way.
