All Archbosses in Throne and Liberty, explained

Throne and Liberty Archbosses
Throne and Liberty features a pair of powerful weekly Archbosses - here's what you need to know about them (Image via Amazon Games)

Archbosses are powerful weekly bosses in Throne and Liberty. Only available at certain times, they offer some of the greatest challenges (and rewards) this free-to-play MMO currently has. They can also spawn in Peaceful or Conflicted Zones, making these fights potentially much harder. Groups of players must come together and team up to fight these bosses, but heated PVP battles could break out over completing either of these objectives.

Like Field Bosses, Archbosses in Throne and Liberty only spawn at certain times, and you can check the map’s “Timetable” feature to know exactly when this will be.

All available Archbosses in Throne and Liberty

  • Queen Bellandir
  • Courte’s Wraith Tevent

In addition to a weekly spawn time, you can find these Archbosses just roaming the zone they spawn in throughout the week. While you can’t even target them, they do occasionally drop useful crafting items, so it is worth it to go exploring if you see one of them in the wild.

1) Queen Bellandir

While some say that this Archboss in Throne and Liberty is a level 50 encounter, my current map shows it as a level 37 encounter. So it could appear at a variety of levels. This is a gigantic sandworm battle that spawns on Saturday. It may have a different spawn time (server time), but this week, it’s at 20:00.

You must absolutely block this boss’s Fury Attacks - one grabs and launches you, and the second can one-shot most players. They don’t go beyond mid-range though, so distance players such as Longbow/Staff players are safe.

When she burrows, get ready for a vacuum sandstorm attack - you want to avoid winding up in the center of the map. If you do, you get one-shot. If you get a Larva add, run from your teammates, to avoid splash damage from the AOE detonation. You also need to bring several people who can Cleanse Poison, as she has a powerful Poison DOT attack.

2) Courte’s Wraith Tevent

  • Location: NW portion of Ruins of Turayne, center of Tevent Temple
  • Recommended Levels: 50
  • Potential Drops: Tevent's Warblade of Despair, Tevent's Fangs of Fury, Tevent's Arc of Wailing Death, Tevent's Grasp of Withering, Shock Commander Gauntlets, Shadow Harvester Grips, Swirling Essence Gloves, Tevent's Frame, Tevent's Abyss (night time only), Tevent's Soul, Frost Lutrang
  • Guaranteed Drops: Conquest Participation Award: Tevent

Courte’s Wraith Tevent is the harder of the two weekly Archbosses in Throne and Liberty. Queen Bellandir has pretty easy mechanics to follow, and as long as you do so, you can avoid being one-shot easily. Don’t blow your Blocks too hastily in this fight.

Like Bellandir, Tevent has a Fury attack that’s easily blocked - but it might do them back-to-back, so beware of that. You can (and should) also block his lightning attack, as it has a huge DOT Debuff that comes with it. If you get the debuff, jump into the water and get under the nearby waterfall.

This is a fight in which you must be ready to move at a moment’s notice. Tevent will occasionally dash across the screen a few times, preempted by “Plummet to the depths of hell!”. If you get caught in any of these, it’s likely to one-shot you. The final shot is an AOE that hits the whole platform, so be ready to jump to try and evade it. You can also leave the platform and fall into the water.

You must also keep an eye out for purple lines - after a brief delay, bones explode out of these, dealing damage if you’re in it. This Archboss can also send waves of daggers out in a 360 motion. Ranged players have it easy - they can just take a hit or two and be fine. Melee needs to run when Tevent starts gathering spirit.
