Throne and Liberty can be a complicated game for beginners. The newest entry in the MMO market follows a similar pattern to many titles, where a player must start from somewhere and complete their journey to the top. However, there can be a few hurdles to cross within the in-game systems, including the basics of progression, a complicated HUD, and more.

This article lists everything you should know as a beginner in Throne and Liberty, alongside a simplified explanation of what can appear to be overwhelming mechanics in the game.

Basic beginner's guide for Throne and Liberty

The first two objectives you should be eyeing as a beginner in Throne and Liberty are choosing weapons for the long run and reaching level 50. Each weapon comes with specific abilities that can be leveled up using materials. For example, if you plan to use a Crossbow and a Long Bow as two weapons, you can only use and level up skills associated with those two weapons.

Equipping anything else besides them will reset the skills. This will lead you to level up new skills for the weapons you just equipped. As a result, this will exhaust several enhancement materials that could have been useful in the future.

For leveling up your character, you can follow the main quests identified by the purple icon. Besides main quests, there are Exploration quests that can be found within the "Codex" section in Options, followed by the "Exploration" tab.

Hence, your primary tasks are to lock in two weapons for your character build and then follow the different quests to level your character.

One small side objective can be crafting all green gear pieces, be it weapons or armor. Doing so will help you sustain damage in areas between 30 and 50, allowing you to reach level 50 faster.

Basic HUD guide in Throne and Liberty

Your character's level, health, and mana are showcased on the top-left corner of the screen by default. Below the health bar, you will find any buffs and debuffs applied to you in real time. You can hover your mouse over these boons and conditions to see what each of them does.

The minimap is on the top-right corner, alongside a schedule that shows the current and upcoming World Events. You can track these events by clicking on them. A "Conflicted" event has PvP enabled, while a "Peaceful" event is PvE-only.

At the bottom of your screen, you have the active skills you can equip according to your preference. You can open your Options, followed by "Skills," and then drag any active weapon skill onto the Hotbar at the bottom. There are 12 slots for active skills, and you can activate them in any order you like.

The bottom-left corner shows the active chat, alongside dialogue subtitles from NPCs. Lastly, the quests are shown under the minimap, whether they are main quests, Exploration quests, or other side quests. The main quests are marked by a purple icon, with Exploration quests having a sky-blue icon and other side quests represented by a faint purple icon.

Progression guide in Throne and Liberty

There are currently four item rarities in Throne and Liberty, including Common white gear, Uncommon Green, Rare Blue, and Epic Purple. Players can expect another tier to be added to the game in the future. However, if a character must be built stronger with time, you must follow the rarities in the aforementioned order.

Each gear piece rarity can be crafted with their respective rarity materials. They can be enhanced with materials of the same rarity as well.

For example, a green Helmet piece can be crafted using green materials, such as Quality Manasteel, Quality Magic Powder, and more. Similarly, a blue Helmet piece can be crafted using blue materials, such as Rare Manasteel, Rare Magic Powder, and more.

Players are recommended to enhance a blue piece of gear at a maximum level before investing in purple gear, as maximum enhancement of the latter takes a lot of materials. Hence, it is ideal to enhance a blue gear up to level 9 and then feed it to the purple gear.
