The Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon is a dangerous place for thrill seekers. As with all Dungeons in-game, this too has its fair share of mobs and bosses to defeat. You will face two mini-bosses while in the Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon. In the end, you will face off with the final boss Lacune.
Unlike the mini-bosses, Lacune is not an easy target and will need some careful planning and timing to take down. The creature is considered one of the most powerful bosses in-game, and given his abilities, this is not an exaggeration. Fret not, if you know what the boss can do, you can plan and counter, or at least be prepared to deal with it accordingly.

How to defeat Lacune in Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon
To defeat Lacune, you will first have to summon the boss by destroying three eggs. They will be positioned on different platforms. Once that's done, you will spawn in the mighty Lacune. This is where the real challenge begins.
There are five attacks/abilities you need to keep in mind when facing Lacune. Here's a list of them, and how to react to the situation.
- Swipe Attack: Lacune has a rage meter in the form of a purple bar located just below the health bar. As the fight progresses, this rage meter will fill. When filled, Lacune will unleash a series of attacks. This will target the player dealing the highest amount of damage. Consider getting out of the way to avoid being hit with a series of attacks.
- Paralysis and Poisonous Ants: Lacune sure loves ants, and it shows. During the fight, ants that can paralyze and poison you will periodically enter the arena. Consider dealing with them as soon as possible before they become a secondary threat.
- Red Mist: After Lacune takes some serious damage, the boss will shout and create a red pillar of death. You can avoid this in two ways. The first would be to stand atop the red rock that has mist coming from it. This rock will create a pillar in the middle of the fight. When the boss slams down on the ground, the resulting AoE damage will only break the pillar and not inflict damage. Alternatively, if you miss boarding the rising pillar, you can run to one of the risen stone boulders in the arena. This will mitigate the AoE damage as well.
- Gem Ants: During this phase of the boss fight (red mist), Lacune will be suspended in mid-air and shoot green projectiles at you. To stop this attack, you will have to kill the Gem Ant that spawns. This will cause Lacune to fall to the ground and allow you to resume the onslaught.
- Exploding Larvae: When the boss's health drops below 50%, Exploding Larvae will be summoned into the arena. If you don't remove these, they will deal a bit of damage, but nothing that a level 40 character will not be able to handle.
That's everything you need to know to defeat Lacune in the Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon. Just remember to not rush into the fight like Leeroy Jenkins, and coordinate with the rest of your party. There are a few Cooking Recipes that you can utilize as well to make the Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon seem like a cakewalk. Use them to your advantage.
