The Throne and Liberty Gigantrite route is perhaps one of the more complicated aspects of the game to grasp. The Gigantrite is an incredible sight to witness. It can best be described as a flying whale, perhaps inspired by the Purrgil from Star Wars. That said, the developers have created their version of this majestic beast which you can not only see but interact with in some capacity in-game.

Before we talk about the Throne and Liberty Gigantrite route, you might be wondering what a Gigantrite is. It's a majestic flying whale that you can interact with by hitching on its back. It will take you on a journey through different routes throughout Stonegard or Laslan. Be sure to take a screenshot while flying through the clouds.

Coming to the lore aspect of the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty, it is an ancient mythical species. They once roamed the land freely, but have now gone extinct except for one lone soul. The Gigantrite is often considered a creature of Mana—absorbing the resource as it moves effortlessly through the clouds.

What is the Throne and Liberty Gigantrite route?

The Throne and Liberty Gigantrite route is the path that the creature takes in-game when it spawns. However, since it does not stop or land, you'll have to find your way to catch a ride on it. Here are the routes and locations where you can attempt to board it:

How to ride the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty

To ride the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty, you need a Glide Morph. You can obtain one by completing quests, defeating bosses, and via complex Collections Codex. Alternatively, you can even purchase a Glide Morph from the shop. Either of these options is open to you.

Once you get a Glide Morph, you will need to gain access to the regions mentioned above. At the highest point of these areas, you must activate your Glide Morph ability and soar through the sky to reach the Gigantrite.

If this is your first time trying to do this, you may not make it to the Gigantrite, and fall short. This could be due to improper timing or sheer nervousness. Nevertheless, you will get as many chances as you require as riding the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty is not a one-time affair.

Once you manage to stick the landing, you will also unlock the Little Friend in the Sky Codex entry. Keep in mind that the Gigantrite appears roughly every three hours. Now that you've mastered the Throne and Liberty Gigantrite routes, and can fly to the creature, you may be wondering what's the point. Well, once you land on the back of the Gigantrite, you will be able to gather resources in Throne and Liberty. Marind Ore Nodes will also spawn on the creature's back. The creature also provides other short-lived buffs.


Can you control the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty?

No, you cannot control the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty. Once you're on its back, all you can do is collect resources, and enjoy wherever the Sky Whale takes you. If you feel that you've had enough of air time, you are always free to use a Glide Morph and get off its back.


Is it worth learning about the Throne and Liberty Gigantrite route?

Yes, if you're a player who has reached level 50 or in the high 40s, it's worth learning about the Throne and Liberty Gigantrite routes. The creature has some amazing resources you can collect from atop it. The view is also quite nice.
