Throne and Liberty features a special mode called Taedal’s Tower, where you can face various dangerous bosses floor after floor. On the 12th floor, you will meet the giant Scorpion boss named Scorpos. It spams various frustrating attacks and burrows underground to avoid your moves. Overall, it's a nuisance if you don’t know how to deal with it.

In this article, we have shared everything you need to know about Scorpos in Throne and Liberty.

Before facing Scorpos in Throne and Liberty, you must be at least Level 37 and defeat the Floor 11 boss, Roaring Avolos Umbramancer. The bosses in Taedal's Tower follow a progression system, meaning you need to defeat the previous floor's boss to access the next.

Nevertheless, we highly recommend you grind past Level 37. While the boss unlocks at 37, you can easily be overpowered by Scorpos. So try to grind till Level 42-45 before you try to face this boss.

Scorpos is the boss of the "Answers in the Sand" level and uses a variety of sand-based mechanics. These are quite a cliche in most RPGs, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Here’s a breakdown of Scorpos' attack patterns and how to counter them:

  • Projectile Attack (Stinger Shot): Scorpos fires a projectile from its tail, which can stun you upon impact. Use your Defensive skills to parry or dodge this attack.
  • Rapid Spin Sandstorm: Scorpos creates a sandstorm by spinning rapidly. This attack can pull you into the storm and deal continuous damage. Keep your distance to avoid being sucked into the sandstorm.
  • Burrow and Emerge Attack: Scorpos will burrow underground and reappear suddenly, attacking from below. Pay close attention to the yellow circles on the ground, as they indicate where Scorpos will reemerge. Move out of these zones to avoid damage.
  • Summoning Tower Scorpions: Periodically, Scorpos will summon additional scorpions to the battlefield. Use this opportunity to lure them into the whirl, stunning Scorpos when it resurfaces. Avoid killing the summoned scorpions outright, as they are needed for triggering the stun.

As you may have gotten the idea from the last point, avoiding Scopo’s attacks is not enough. You will have to periodically bring it to the surface to damage it. To bring it to the surface:

  • Lure Tower Explosion Scorpions into the sand whirls that appear on the battlefield. This is a key mechanic to expose Scorpos.
  • The correct sand whirl is marked by purple particles; lead the scorpions into this area.
  • When done correctly, Scorpos will appear in a stunned state, allowing you to land significant damage.

Important: Luring the Tower Explosion Scorpions into the wrong whirl will cause Scorpos to resurface and unleash an arena-wide attack, so be careful to guide them to the right location.

Best weapons to use against Scorpos in Throne and Liberty

Ranged weapons are highly effective in this battle. Using a Crossbow, Long Crossbow, or Staff allows you to maintain distance from Scorpos and avoid its deadly close-range attacks like the Rapid Spin Sandstorm. However, if you want to use close-range builds, go for the Greatsword, Sword, and Shield build as it offers a lot of sustain as well as AOE damage.

Scorpos’ basic claw attacks can be interrupted using crowd-control abilities, giving you more time to deal damage safely. So try to use a build that offers a lot of CC to disrupt the scorpion’s attacks.
