Grapple to the pillars to defeat the Mad Red Pyromancer in Throne and Liberty
The arena in which you fight the Mad Red Pyromancer plays a big part in the fight. The floor has four pillars that will periodically rise from the ground. This will provide temporary safe zones from the Pyromancer's deadly AOE fire attacks. You must consistently climb up to these pillars to survive large AOEs.
Attack Patterns of Mad Red Pyromancer in Throne and Liberty
Burning Ground AOE Attack
- The Pyromancer's most dangerous ability is his large AOE fire attack, which covers the ground in flames. Standing on the ground when this happens will melt your HP bar.
- As soon as you notice the Pyromancer casting this ability, grapple to one of the rising pillars to avoid the damage. Staying on the pillars during these AOE phases is essential to staying alive.
Teleportation
- The Pyromancer teleports around the arena frequently, making it difficult to land continuous melee hits. His teleportation is random, so you must consistently track his positions.
- Because he teleports frequently, ranged attacks are much more effective in this fight. You can chip away at his health when he teleports far from you and close the distance when you can.

Best abilities and weapons for the Mad Red Pyromancer in Throne and Liberty

1. Nature’s Blessing (Active Skill)
- Description: This longbow skill fires four powerful arrows in succession, each dealing significant damage.
- Usage: Use this ability while on the pillars to deal heavy damage to the boss from afar, especially when he’s not teleporting.
2. Sniper’s Sense (Passive Skill)
- Description: Sniper’s Sense is a passive ability that increases your critical hit chance the further you are from your target.
- Usage: Since the Pyromancer often teleports and you’ll frequently be on elevated pillars, this passive skill will significantly boost your chances for critical hits.
